In Detail Lakme Complexion Care CC Cream Review, Swatches and My Experience

The CC cream comes in a beautiful peachy-rose gold toned tube with a metallic silver coloured screw cap. It has a small nozzle at the mouth to dispense the product. There were 2 shades available in this range Lakme CC Cream Shade Beige and Bronze. I am MAC NC 30-35 and I was matched to shade Bronze which suits me quite well. Its a travel friendly tube so you can very well have it handy in your bag.

The cream has a moderate creamy consistency. I take a pea sized amount of it, dot it all over my face and then blend it out with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. It does take a couple of minutes to blend. But guys, when it blends, it evens out the skin so well that it deserves the Elle beauty award it received. Fine lines of the skin and pores are totally gone and skin appears velvety smooth. It gives a very natural looking medium coverage on the skin. It does hide minor blemishes and spots, however it won’t hide any tough marks. Beauties with tough dark circles still might need an under eye concealer but otherwise, you can skip it.

If I were to define its finish in a single word, I can best think of – Airbrushed. Although the finish is not exactly completely matte. It’s somewhat between a natural to matte finish. It’s a great product for everyday wear since it does not feel or look like I am wearing makeup. It does have SPF 20 but that’s like almost nothing in India where we have the sun shinning all through the 11 out of 12 months in a year.

The wear time of the CC cream is quite alright. It stays put without getting patchy or oily for around 3 hours. After that my T zone starts getting oily (I have oily-combination skin). However if I am in an air conditioned environment all the time, the wear time increased two times. For oily T zone, I use a blotting sheet to take off the excess oil and then touch up with a compact.

It suits my oily to combination skin well but for ladies with dry skin, I recommend using a moisturiser underneath depending upon your skin type. As far as shade recommendation is concerned, as I already mentioned I am NC 30-35 which is pretty much an olive skin tone with yellow undertones. If you are lighter than NC 30, go for the beige shade otherwise the shade bronze will work well.

Important: Do not replace your skin care with a BB or CC cream. Although the concept of such creams initially was to provide total skin care benefit along with a tint, these days BB and CC creams are actually tinted moisturisers. So make sure you follow a proper skin care routine and not just rely on this one. Therefore, do not skip your serum/moisturiser and SPF.

PROs of Lakme Complexion Care CC Cream

1. Light everyday tinted moisturiser.
2. Gives medium coverage.
3. Makes fine lines, pores and minor blemishes disappear.
4. Makes skin look very even.
5. Controls oils for approximately 3 hours.
6. Gives a natural finish.
7. Has SPF 20, which is sufficient for indoor wear.
8. Budget friendly.

CONs of Lakme Complexion Care CC Cream

1. Only 2 shades available. Hence, limited.
2. Oily skin beauties will need touch ups.
3. Doesn’t really follow the concept of CC creams.

MBF Advises

1. As already mentioned above, do not skin any part of your skin care ritual with this cream. Although its names as CC Cream, its pretty much a tinted moisturiser with an added goodness of covering minor imperfections.
2. SPF 20 is not enough unless you are going to be indoors all the time. Therefore, use a proper SPF if you are going to be outside.
3. This is a silicon based product, so no need of primer underneath.
4. If you are sensitive to silicon based products, test it out before using it over the facial skin.

3.8/5
