Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Berry Review: Hello Busy beauties, Laneige! This brand has been on the lips of the skincare enthusiasts for a couple of years. Be it for their Water science technology products or the extremely cute packaging or the fancy names they give to their products, this brand is hyped internationally.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Berry Review

Laneige is a luxury South Korean beauty brand which was founded in 1994. India’s leading beauty retailer Nykaa has brought Laneige to India in 2018.

I personally tried most of the products in their range – Sleeping masks, Sheet masks, Serums, Lip balms. And my most Favorite among them is their Lip Sleeping Mask and the least favorite is their sheet masks (Please don’t even try those, NEVER !!! ).

So, today I am going to share my personal experiences on using the product – Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in the shade Berry. The other options out there are Apple lime and Grapefruit. You can choose any of those depending on the scent you like as the formula and results are same for all the flavours. Personally, strawberry is my favourite so I picked the shade Berry.

In Detail Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Berry Review and My Experience

Packaging: I really like the packaging of all the Laneige products and their signature color is Aqua Blue as they promote the motto of “Be Waterfull Everyday with Laneige”. But this lip sleeping masks comes in the colors based on the flavors. The 8gm product comes in a pink Plastic tub whereas the 20gm comes in a very sturdy frosted glass jar and a little spatula with a plastic head.

My experience: There’s an immense satisfaction that comes with finishing a tub of your balm of choice. But this product might not give you that chance at least for 8 months or so. I have been using the 8 gm version for about 4 months and trust me, there is still more than a half product left in the tub (I apply it on regular basis at night and sometimes at daytime).

I am very much used to applying a lot of matte lipsticks and liquid lipsticks which made my lips dry and patchy over a period of time and I have a very very bad habit of biting my lips frequently which make it even more worse. (I feel like biting the extra skin on your lips will give way for new skin 😊 Arghh !! I know its too weird idea).

From my childhood, I use only Vaseline on my lips at night as I feel it’s the best treatment for any lips and Neutrogena lip balm at day time or under lipstick. But now a days I noticed that my lips are turning dark on the top side.

May be this is due to the Vaseline or not, I’m not sure. But finally I decided to ditch the Vaseline and look for a better product out there. Based on the raving reviews and cult-like following around the world for the Laneige lip sleeping mask, I decided to give it a try.

The texture is between that of a very thick moisturizer and a silky balm. It absorbs into the skin within few minutes and gives a good plumping effect which lasts for almost 2 hours.

At first when I started using it, I felt like the scent is too heavy for nose but it hardly lasts for 10-20min ( If you are not found of Strawberry scent, then I suggest you to avoid the berry flavour because it might irritate your head ).

You just apply the mask like you’d do with lip balm and yeah, that’s it. I realised quickly that you need just a tiny bit otherwise the mask can feel too thick and get inside the mouth.

Laneige suggests to wipe off remains the next morning but Im sure there wont be any product left on the lips by morning as it will be completely absorbed. I couldn’t stop touching my bare lips all morning – they were just so soft, hydrated.

But, the only drawback ( and the main one too ) I found is that it didn’t do any miracle to my darkened lips. Like, its good for moisture, its so quickly absorbing etc etc., which every good lip balm does but for extensive hype, I expected it to do some miracle on my darkened lips.

After using it for over 4 months, I didn’t find any noticeable change in the color of lips (As said above, I have pigmentation caused by use of lipsticks).

If you’re curious whether you can also use this sleeping mask as a lip balm throughout the day, the answer is yes. But I don’t suggest this under lipstick. I tried this for couple of times but felt like the balm is forming a layer right underneath the lipstick and somehow, I didn’t like the glossy finish that is formed. But, if you are a fan of glossy looks, then you can tap it slightly after applying the lipstick.

MBF Advises

I definitely recommend this product to everyone and it’s the best overnight Lip balm till date. It heals your chapped lips within a week. But, as this is tub based packaging, my only advice is to keep your hands well cleaned and sanitized before dipping your fingers in the tub if you are not using the spatula.
