Use them as an eyeshadow, eyeshadow base or an eyeliner. Tried, Tested and Tired of all the crayon eyeliners I had, gave the LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR EYESTICK one last shot and had sworn to never buy any eye sticks again if this dint work. To my surprise I am looking at different shades from Laura Mercier to buy right now as you read.

There are 25 shades, 7 matte shades and 18 shimmer shades. I own the shade ‘PLUM’ which is a shimmer shade.

How to Use Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour

• Numerous ways to use
• Glide on the go.

1. Draw along your upper/lower lash line , add coats of mascara for a day look.
2. Do a black winged liner and add this to your lower line for a hint of color.
3. Apply on your lid and blend with a finger for a Sheer all over the eye look.
4. Apply on top and bottom lash line and smudge for a smokey look.
5. Use this as a base and layer on other eyeshadows.

Packaging

It comes in a sturdy, brown coloured Basic plastic eyeshadow stick with a cap. The bottom section of the stick is colour coded, always a plus. The product is retractable, no need of a sharpener. The packaging is travel friendly, the cap does not come off loose so it wont get lost in your handbag.

The shade PLUM is a deep purple colour with hidden pearly shimmer. The texture is velvety smooth, very creamy and Soft. Goes on effortlessly like butter. Trust me you wont even feel when you apply it on your eye. I was blown away with the creaminess of it, unlike most crayons that I have used. There’s no tugging on the eyes at all.

The consistency of the product is creamy it might melt in hot and humid climate but wont dry up. The product looks creamy when you first put it on, it dries and sets into eyeshadow with slight shimmer frosty look. The product is very easy to build and blend before it sets.

Just one swipe of it is enough to be opaque and get excellent intense colour. The product application, it is not patchy at all. Blend it out with your finger for a sheer, washed off all over the lid look. The colour payoff is very impressive. Even after 9+ hours it was the same as I had applied it.

I have a couple of swatches on my hand that stayed through a shower, that I had to take off with makeup remover. After the product sets it wont crease or transfer. Stays on for forever but you might find a slight dullness after 10 hour wear.

Overall Verdict

With eye sticks there are no fallouts, and with every swipe you get even pigmentation and popping colour. These stand out than normal eyeshadows, another plus point.

The only problem (well not a problem really) with this is you got to work fast. This is because it takes a few seconds for the product to set and ones its set, it wont budge. You might take the frosty shine away trying to blend it after the product sets but the product wont move what-so-ever.

This is a thick fat crayon and so is the tip of it, I only wish the tip was more pointed to get the precise eye liner line with it and that it was more pocket friendly.
