How to Use Lever Ayush Anti Marks Turmeric Face Cream

The description on their website is quite confusing. I think they wanted to do this usage instructions for a face wash but it landed up on the Ayush turmeric face cream’s page instead. Though a small glitch but I hope they correct it now because it has been like that since 4 months now. I wonder why no one from their team has even bothered to check whats written on their own page. Here’s a screenshot from their official website…

In Detail Lever Ayush Anti Marks Turmeric Face Cream Review, Swatches and My Experience

The cream comes in a white colour transparent tube. Its opaque. The label colour theme corresponds to the face wash from their same range i.e. “Lever Ayush Anti Marks Turmeric” range. Although they have mentioned most of the ingredients, I am so sad that they haven’t mentioned all the exact ingredients in the cream base. I mean, I would want to know what exactly constitutes the cream base. Is it milk cream or is it other synthetic form of milk. It kind of gets on my nerves every time I see an incomplete ingredients list or no ingredients list at all!

The cream smells like a regular cold cream to me. It doesn’t smell like turmeric or anything. It has a creamy texture with medium consistency. It looks and feels very similar to “Fair and Lovely” cream which is widely available in India.

How I Use it

I used it twice daily, morning and evening after washing and toning my face. I take a pea size amount and massage it all over my facial and neck skin. It is important to make sure you are not taking too much of it or else it can be a pain to blend into the skin. Because even a normal pea sized amount takes a while to blend in properly. As you massage it, it kind of sits on the skin like a precipitate. But after massaging for a while, it blends.

Effects

Immediately after applying it, I can appreciate that it makes my skin feel very soft. However, my skin feels slightly tacky to touch. There is this residue like a white cast which feels like its sitting on the skin. I miss that clean feeling on my skin whenever I use this. Therefore, let the warning be out, this cream is indeed quite heavy. For a while after application, the residue sits on the skin and makes the skin very matte. But after a while, my skin starts sweating. It just blocks the pores I feel. Again, if you are travelling under the sun or going to do sweat out, this is probably going to make the skin look very greasy after a few minutes.

Also know, that this cream possibly can give you break outs because it jams the pores. When the pored get jammed, thats how breakouts happen. So I would never recommend this cream for acne prone skin girls.

As far as its lightening and anti marks claims are concerned. I absolutely detest them. This did nothing for my marks or changed my skin tone even a bit. In fact I never feel like reaching for this because it sits like a film on my face, first matte then weird oily. I do reckon that no skin type would fall in love with this.

Overall Verdict

Overall I feel that is a very average product. It claims to be natural but it actually contains only 2 natural ingredients i.e. turmeric and kumkumadi tailam. Both around 10 miligram each per 10 gram of product. This honestly is quite less. I mean, turmeric is a very common Indian spice found almost in all Indian homes. So I see nothing innovative or no out of the box natural ingredients here. It actually does not work for my combination skin at all. I do not recommend my beauties to try it out.

However, if you wish, you may give this a try. But please make sure you have a backup plan B in case you’re going to do something important. This does turn me into a greaseball after a while when I set my foot outside an air conditioned environment.
