In Detail L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick Scarlet Déjà vu 911 Review, Swatches and My Experience
The Loreal Rougue Magique lipsticks come in a gorgeous pink and black packaging. The cap is metallic pink and the base is matte black in colour. This is very similar to the Loreal Magique Kajal, Loreal Magique Bold Kajal and Loreal Magique EyeLiner. These lipsticks have a click lock mechanism exactly like the Loreal Colour Riche Lipsticks. I find this lock mechanism very unique as well as safe because the lipstick does not open unless you apply pressure. Therefore, this stays safe in my purse and does not get messed up.
These lipsticks have a plastic covering around them which has the ingredients written on it. Also, there’s a sticker which has informations like the price, manufacture details and import. I am super glad that these lipsticks are made in France, so I know I am getting some good quality in there. The lipstick has a slight fruity scent to it.
Texture, Formula, Pigmentation
The loreal rougue magique lipstick has a very smooth texture. It glides very easily on the lips without the slightest tugging. Although this is smooth, I love the fact that its not overly creamy. The formula is non drying. I have worn this lipstick for hours and this does not dry out my lips at all even if I am not wearing a lip balm underneath. The best part is, its a super comfortable formula to wear. The pigmentation of the lipstick is super intense. It basically gives 100% opaque coverage in a single swipe. The swatches below are done by swiping the lipstick only once on my hand. These are honestly super appealing if you’re someone who loves incredibly pigmented lipsticks.
Shade – Loreal Rouge Magique Scarlet Deja Vu
I am someone who purchases red lipsticks like I am buying food. If there is any red lipstick that I haven’t tried out, I need it in my life. Scarlet Deja Vu is the statement red shade of this range. The name of the lipstick range in Rouge Magique. Rouge means red, therefore every single shade in this range is based on red. Scarlet Deja Vu is the pure red of this range. It has neutral undertones which makes it a shade that would suit every skin tone. Its bright yet not on on your face. This is a red which makes heads turn. So, if you’re looking for a similar red, I totally recommend this one.
Finish, Wearability, Staying Power
After half a minutes of application, this lipstick sets into matte finish. Its not a powder matte finish, but what I would call a comfortable matte finish. You can do the tissue paper and loose powder trick if you want to make this even more matte. It keeps looking matte throughout the wear time and does not bleed or feather. It does not accentuate fine lines, but does not make them less prominent either. The formula is very light weight hence, it does not feel like you have a product on your lips all the time.
Speaking of the staying power, this lipstick wore well on my lips for 6 hours before showing signs of fading. For 8 hours, I did not need to touch up. After that, it starts showing visible fade near the centre of the lips.
This lipstick leaves a strong stain behind on the lips upon removing. First of all, you can’t just remove it with bare tissue paper. You either need a good quality makeup remover or makeup remover wipes and spend good 5-7 minutes removing it. Simple micellar waters don’t work well. Otherwise, you can use your favourite oil, that helps remove the lipstick too. If you want to remove the stain, you need to go over may be 3 to 4 times. However, I usually don’t remove the stain unless I am going to bed. This is because this stains the lips evenly, which looks pretty nice to be honest.
Overall I have to say that this is one of the most amazing launches my Loreal this year. At INR 650/- this is probably the most affordable lipstick by loreal yet. Although it is less costly, the quality meets the standards of some high end lipsticks. If you’re looking for a lipstick with super intense pigmentation, comfortable matte finish with a fairly long wear time, totally check this range out. I definitely recommend this to all my #MBFsquad

CONs of L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick Scarlet Déjà vu
1. Transfers a little.
Apart from this, I am not sure I can think of anything wrong with this lipstick. Its affordable yet works amazingly.
1. I usually advise everyone to wear a lip balm underneath. However this time I am not going to. Because these lipsticks are not drying on the lips. Also, the finish is comfortable matte (not completely matte). Hence if you apply a lip balm underneath, these would appear lesser matte than they already are. I hope this doesn’t sound gibberish. 😀
2. Use a good quality makeup remover to remove this lipstick. Micellar waters take forever to get the job done with this one.
3. I did not use a lip liner in my swatches above because I wanted to show the true colour of the lipstick. I always have this phobia that a lip liner might change the actual true colour of the lipstick and I want to show the actual colour on my blog. However, I always use a lip liner to line my lips before applying a lipstick when I am going out. Hence, to get a precise margin, use a lip liner.
