L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator Highlighter Review, Swatches: Hey guys, so I talked about the Loreal True Match Lumi Powder Highlighter a couple of days back and today I am here to share my thoughts on this liquid highlighter from Loreal under the same range. The makeup world is all about that glow lately and drugstore brands have been launching some amazing stuff. I had to pick this product as soon as I saw it because it just called out me “Oh pick me, I am so unique!” 😀 I mean seriously, not a lot of brands in India have liquid highlighters. I remember Faces cosmetics has a range of liquid highlighters in the Indian market. Also MAC strobe creams are around but MAC obviously is quite costly. So let me take you through and tell you everything about my experience with this product. Let me know if you want me to compare this with other liquid highlighters like MAC or Becca’s Shimmering Skin perfectors.

In India, the liquid highlighter is slightly less expensive than the powder one. Also, this product hasn’t been launched in all the Asian markets like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong yet but we are hoping they will soon be launched after Cannes 2017. This is because Loreal brand ambassadors are going to feature this as one of the Cannes 2017 range of products.
In Detail L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator Highlighter Review, Swatches and My Experience
The Loreal Lumi liquid highlighter comes in a rose gold theme packaging. The cap has a metallic rose gold chrome finish which looks very pretty. Loreal says that you can apply it all over the face with a foundation or as a highlight. So I really wanted to try it out. Loreal has given a diagrammatic illustration on the back of the tube explaining the ways in which this can be used and what are the effects when used in the particular areas of the face. Also, I appreciate the fact that Loreal has mentioned a detailed ingredients list on the back of the packaging.
The highlighter does not have any strong smell to it. But when I bring my nose really close to the nozzle, it kind of smells chemical-y. The texture is very smooth and it feels just like a light cream. There are no tangible shimmer particles. The shade I got is Golden Dore because I have medium skin complexion with warm undertones. This shade is a beautiful medium golden metallic shade with slightly beige-orange undertones. Golden Dore will look perfect on all my ladies with light-medium and medium complexions. There is another shade available in India known as Rose which will mostly suit ladies with fair to light complexions with slightly warm under tones. The USA market has a 3rd shade available called Ice which suits my beauties with very pale or light skin complexions.
How I Use it
The product comes out as a cream and you basically have to blend and spread it on the desired areas you wish to highlight. Do remember that this product sets or dries up really really fast. So make sure to work very quickly when you are blending this product otherwise it will leave some streaky effect which you will have to blend with extra effort. I apply this on the high points of my cheek, brow bone and a tiny bit on cupid’s bow. You can use this where ever you wish to highlight. Apply on one area, blend it and then move to the other area because it dries very fast.
Make sure to use this product with your finger tips. Using a brush or beauty blender is kind of wasteful, because the product just sticks to brush or beauty blender and dries on it. And hence with a brush or beauty blender, very little product gets applied or transferred on the skin. Hence I always use my finger tips to blend this.
Effects
The Loreal Lumi Liquid highlight gives a beautiful glow to the skin. Its not a blinding highlight effect, but not very subtle either. The glow or highlight effect that it provides is perfect for wearing in parties or events where you do not want to glow to the Gods but still want a beautiful noticeable glow on your face. If you wish to glow to the Gods, layer it up a little and apply a pressed highlight on top. Loreal Lumi liquid does not accentuate my skin texture or pores.
For some really dramatic golden base face makeup, this product is perfect when applied directly or with moisturiser on the face because once it dries, it stays in place and does not move around at all throughout its wear time. Speaking of wear time, it stays on my skin for 7 to 8 hours. After that it fades and does start turning a little patchy. If you sweat which wearing this, it definitely comes off very quickly. As a quick comparison, I will say that Loreal Lumi Liquid is definitely more metallic and frosty than MAC Strobe Creams or Becca Liquid Shimmering skin perfectors.
