LUSH Salt And Peppermint Bark Body Scrub Review: On many winter nights you will find me with a cup of Peppermint hot cocoa, curled up on the sofa, watching my favourite Youtubers. Peppermint candy canes are one thing I look forward to during the holiday season, so a scrub that smells like peppermint? Of course I would give it a try!
Winters also mean rough and dry skin a good exfoliator is always a must at least ones a week. If you have been using lotions on your dry areas religiously and still find no improvement try exfoliating, it will get rid of dry dead skin and help lotions seep in and absorb better.
I wanted to try Lush’s scrubs for a long time. I browsed their online site to find a scrub but it wasn’t available in their local store. When the store lady showed me one of their Christmas gift set box I was drawn to this particular scrub and bought the whole box because I wanted to try the scrub.
This is their holiday edition product, its called “Salt and Peppermint bark scrub”

In Detail LUSH Salt And Peppermint Bark Body Scrub Review and My Experience
Product and packaging
The product, if bought by itself comes in a paper packaging, I bought this in a gift set so it came in a festive gift box along with the other products but the there was no packaging to it. This is one of their naked solid scrubs.
The product is a hard square solid scrub. The pattern on it looks very delicate and beautiful in the pictures online and also the color is vibrant, so I was a little disappointed with the way it looked in person, duller in color as well as not so delicate in detail. It’s a gradient sea green in color with a few (to be precise, four) dull orange and yellow chunks on the top.
The sea salt cannot be seen at first but only after one use you will be able to see the crystal salt particles in the solid scrub.
The product smells amazing, minty fresh with hints of sweetness coming from the cocoa butter in it. The smell is addictive, you will want to keep on smelling it!
How it Works on Me
I was looking forward to a good exfoliating experience. I hopped in the shower and started working it in circular motions, starting from my upper body, working my way to the lower body. As I was in the process of scrubbing I felt like there were a 1000th ants on me, biting at the same time ( no exaggeration)!
There was this burning sensation, I thought it was the cooling sensation from the peppermint oil so I finished scrubbing and quickly massaged all the butters in and rinsed myself. While rinsing you will notice green colored water draining but it doesn’t leave you tinted. The burning sensation was gone but I was still a little sensitive. Hopped off the shower, patted dry looked in the mirror to only find my neck area, upper arms, chest covered in what looked like a furious cat scratched me!
But there were scratches only on some parts that’s my already sensitive tummy area due to stretch marks, neck and chest and upper arms. My lower body was fine ..
After just one use the bar looked quite used up, so I don’t think it will last me long. Even though it scratched me in a few places I would still use it ones a week.
The scrub doesn’t lather as you exfoliate with it but cleanses you and gets rid or dead skin and trapped dirt. After scrubbing massage all over your body to work in the butters thats left while scrubbing.
I don’t have sensitive skin but I would say not to use this on sensitive areas like neck, chest and upper arms, or use it with a very very light hand. You can also chop this up and use a little piece at a time.
Do not use this under running shower, because its main ingredient is sea salt which will melt under running water. It also soaks up some water and become softer than the first time, also one of the reasons I would still use it.
Aside from the scratches, My body was left feeling fresh and supple and soft as butter. It does what it says and leave you moisturized. I am in no way letting it go, I will use it on my lower body, this also helps with ingrown hair problems.
