MAC Diva lipstick is probably one of the most loved shades from MAC. Did you know that the full form of MAC was Makeup Art Cosmetics? Well I never really thought about it until today when I was reading the bottom of the lipstick. Yay! to a new discovery! If you have been following my blog or instagram, you already know that red lipsticks are my all time favourites. I can just wear red lipstick with every thing.

About MAC Diva Lipstick

MAC describes DIVA to be an intense reddish burgundy shade. They say “Its formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips, hundreds of hues, high fashion textures. The iconic product that made M.A.C. famous.

In Detail MAC Diva Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches and My Experience

It belongs to MAC’s permanent range of lipsticks and comes in a classic black and silver packaging with a click close top. Like all MAC lipsticks, it has a slight vanilla fragrance to it.

MAC Diva is a warm toned, kind of muted deep red shade. It’s the red sibling of burgundy, not exactly burgundy. This is exactly what I would call a perfect Vampy shade of a lipstick. This looks super sexy with LBD and or any other black attire. It’s also much loved as a bridal red shade in India.

Though its described as a matte lipstick, for me this falls more under the category of a creamy-matte lipstick. It gives a matte finish but not so super matte. It does not exactly dry out my lips because its creamy and glides on perfectly to the lips without tugging. Immediately after applying, it doesn’t really look matte however after a while it sets into a matte finish.

Pigmentation wise, it does not go super opaque in a single swipe. It takes about 3-4 swipes for me to get the desired opaqueness. Staying power is approximately 6-7 hours without meals and around 5 hours with meals. It does transfer a little on objects. After taking it off, it leaves a reddish stain behind on the lips which I guess looks pretty cute.

1. It’s one of those reds which will go perfectly on any occasion.
2. Colours of lipsticks may give a little different look on different skin tones, so unless you are really ready to experiment, always swatch the tester of a lipstick on your skin before purchasing it.
