MAC Topped With Brandy Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour Reviews, Swatches: Hi guys, today I’ll be talking M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lip colour – Topped With Brandy. It was my first liquid lipstick from M.A.C Cosmetics, and it was so worth the money.

It has been one of my favourite lipsticks. Earlier I used to go for matte or creamy finish lipsticks as a lot of liquid matte lipstick are a bit drying on the lips and after a while. Usually they start to look flaky even if you apply lip balm underneath, this one thankfully does not do that.

M.A.C retro matte liquid lipsticks comes a transparent tube with matte finish black cap which has M.A.C written in silver. It’s a twist and open kind of bottle and closes perfectly thus avoiding spilling or leakage of any sorts. The packaging is quite sturdy and easy to carry in a bag without too much of a fuss, just put in your bag and it doesn’t need any kind of cover or anything.

The colour name and number is written on the bottom but you don’t have to look for it while searching the lipstick as the transparent bottle makes it so much more convenient to spot.

The lipstick has a reservoir tip applicator which is quite similar to a doe foot applicator but is a tear shaped applicator with a hole in the middle which controls the transfer of liquid on the lips. The tip gives an added advantage of precise application and doesn’t not require for you to go for the product again and again.

The formula is very pigmented and consistent, best part about the formulation of this lipstick is it does not dry out the lips unless you already have very dry lips. It’s a creamy soft formula which will glide on very smoothly. One swipe is all you need to get the shade right on the lips.

Additionally, to get a better finish try to apply a lip balm beforehand and also exfoliate the lips so that it doesn’t get flaky by any chance. I have quite dry lips so I apply lip balm and gently exfoliate and it gets on lips perfectly.
When you open the tube, it has very mild vanilla fragrance to it which is a mac signature fragrance for its lipsticks, you can try the matte lipsticks or amplified or liquid or even glosses they all have this fragrance.

It’s a soft fragrance and fades in a while its not very long lasting so even if you are not a fan of fragrant lipsticks you can still wear this without getting uncomfortable or uneasy.

It’s a beautiful shade that will suit any skin tone without washing you out or looking too out of place. It is a nice brown shade with red undertone with makes it very different from rest of the browns out there. Its perfect for an evening out with friends or a dinner date, it a very versatile kind of shade. it stays on my lips for a good 5 to 6 hours and it doesn’t fade easily.

It usually starts to feather away from the middle of the lips and that too not in patches, it gets lighter and since it a dark shade it’s a bit noticeable but you don’t need a touch up for at least 6 hours.

It can be easily removed with makeup remover doesn’t leave much of residue but just a bit of a tint at times which isn’t very long lasting. I prefer to remove liquid lipsticks with baby oil, it is much more moisturizing and takes off all the product at once.

Let it dry completely before pressing the lips together, that gives you a much smother finish and also avoid layering the liquid lipstick. Remove the previous quote and then re-apply that’ll make sure that the lips look fresh and smooth
