In Detail MALIN+GOETZ Revitalizing Eye Cream Review, Swatches and My Experience

If you look at the price, it is indeed one of the costly eye creams out there. The MALIN + GOETZ revitalising eye cream comes in a blue colour jar with a white cap. Very simple yet elegant packaging. Although a packaging with a pump dispenser is what I’d have actually loved. The Drunk Elephant’s C tango multivitamin eye cream actually has the most amazing packaging for an eye cream.

The Malin + Goetz eye cream has a really nice rich yet lightweight texture. I have normal under eye skin, neither too dry or oily. My main concerns are under eye circles and some creases (genetic). I always look for eye creams which have brightening and hydrating properties. Therefore when I got this as a sample, I immediately looked at the ingredients list and I was impressed. I started using it the very same day.

I had a 2.5 mL sample of this product and it lasted me for a month when I used it once daily. So a 15 mL should last for months. Therefore, although tiny, this will last a long time. I apply this at night after washing my face. It sinks in to the skin within like 2 minutes and you can see that the under eye area looks super hydrated. I apply my face serums etc after the eye cream and then I goto bed.

In the morning, my under eye area looked bright and fresh. It also helps with extra puffiness, like in the mornings my under eyes never looked puffy or red. I however noticed no effects on my dark circles at all.

I also used it under makeup a few times and it didn’t cause any extra oiliness. My foundation didn’t slip over it and in fact after the makeup was done, my under eye area looked very good. Because its very hydrating, there was no rolling or pilling while applying the base makeup.

I have to say that the effects of this cream last as long as you keep using it. When I stopped using it after a month, my skin pretty much returned to its usual self within a couple of days. So you do have to continue using it if you’re looking for a sustained effect.

Another strange thing I notice with this cream – when I first got it, it was white in colour however when I stopped using it and it was kept unused for like 15 days, the little remaining product inside kind of lost its colour and has now turned into balm like waxy colour. The texture still remains almost the same and it doesn’t smell anything weird. So I went ahead and used it for 2-3 days and viola! it gave the exact same effects. There was no irritation or anything.

So I would highly suggest keeping this in a dark area. Also, use it as soon as you get it, don’t keep it unused for long.

Overall, I really enjoyed using this eye cream and I suggest you go ahead and try it of you’re looking to invest in a luxury brand. This is very hydrating and has a brightening effect on the undereye area. I don’t have wrinkles yet so I cannot comment on that but remember, its easier to prevent wrinkles than to treat them. So always hydrate your under eye area even if you have oily skin.

Because this cream is quite costly, I would suggest waiting for sale season or look for other discounts. MALIN and GOETZ do offer a one time 10% off for first time shoppers on their official website, so you could use that.

If you would like to know anything else about my experience with this product, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below and ask me. I would answer your questions as soon as possible. 🙂

PROs of MALIN+GOETZ Revitalizing Eye Cream

  1. Richly moisturising yet lightweight texture.
  2. Gets absorbed rather quickly.
  3. Doesn’t leave any residue or greasiness on the surface.
  4. Can be worn comfortably under makeup.
  5. Hydrates and soothes the under eye area.
  6. Has de-puffing and brightening effects.
  7. Vegetarian (Not vegan) and cruelty free.

CONs of MALIN+GOETZ Revitalizing Eye Cream

  1. None of the effects are long lasting if you stop using the product on a regular basis.
  2. Expensive for the amount of product provided.
  3. If you’re into natural skincare, you may not be super impressed with the very long ingredients list which contains some controversial skin care ingredients like alcohols and edta. Personally, I don’t have a problem using these for my skin, but if you’re someone who cares about these things, I thought you should know.

MBF Advises

  1. Use very light pressure while applying the cream around your eye area.
  2. Don’t keep this unused for long.
  3. Always look at the ingredients list of products. This will give you an idea about what works for your skin and what doesn’t.
  4. Look for deals and offers if you want to buy this. In UK, you can buy this from their official website or cultbeauty. In USA, you can buy this from their official website. I haven’t seen this on Sephora USA’s website. But it is available at Sephora Canada.
