Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara Blacquer Review, Swatches: Two things I envy that my husband and son are blessed with, big eyes and big eyelashes. It is like they have falsies on all the time! And here I am with small and almost bald eyes. I have sparse, short almost no eyelashes.

Eyelashes change the whole look if they are full, long and jet black, they open up the eyes and give “big eyes” effect. Mascaras are the magic wands that instantly make your eyes pop. Today I am reviewing ‘ marc jacobs o!mega lash volumizing mascara in blacquer’

About Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara

Get full lashes that make eyes pop with this water-based formula from Marc Jacobs. It incorporates a special size-increasing blend of rice bran, bayberry, carob, and African acacia tree extracts for maximum lash-expanding impact. The essential oils deeply condition lashes, while vitamins B5 and C strengthen and hold them in place for even longer wear. The innovative double brush features an advanced design that’s formed by stitching together two different brushes: one for enhanced lash separation, and another for mega-volume and curl. Together, the full-body formula and dual brush design lengthen, curl, define, and volumize lashes so that they’re longer, louder, and blacquer than ever before.

In Detail Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara Blacquer Review, Swatches and My Experience

Product and packaging

I bought this mascara in one of the Sephora favourites box. It is their mini mascara of 3 grams. I like the mini versions as you can test products before you buy the full size. Some products work for some and some products don’t, so you don’t have to waste a lot of money on something which might not work for you.

It comes in a black plastic mascara container, screw on cap, nothing fancy. With ‘marc jacobs’ printed in silver on the top side and details on the back side. The wand is quite short with the spooley brush at the end. The spooley brush is big and thick with lots of bristles. They are just straight inline pointing out bristles. Bendable bristles but they feel really hard almost plasticky while applying on the eyelashes. I have poked my eyes quite a few times and oh my god it hurt like hell. The brush is a dual design brush. Two different brushes stitched together one for lash separation and the other for volumizing and curling, I am definitely saving the brush and use it with different mascara after I run out of this mascara.

Formula, Performance

The formula is on the denser side and also on the drier side. The formula goes on smooth and gives instant lengthening effect to my lashes. They also separate and define the eyelashes. The pigmentation is amazing. It truly is the blackest, in fact shiniest black. I am not a fan of the formula however. Its very dense and dry as compared to other mascaras I have had. One coat goes on smooth, it works its magic in defining and coating my lashes with the amazing blackness. The problem occurs when you try to put the second coat on. The formula being dry, the first coat flakes and falls in the under eye area. Also clumps up near the root area. The formula is not buildable without a little bit of flaking.

The mascara doesn’t give the “drama” needed. It is good for a natural look, but not when you need full blown falsie effect. The mascara also has a curling effect and it works and looks amazing as it curls from the roots.

Wear time of the mascara is about 6-7 hours after which there is a lot of flaking. The mascara has essential oils to moisturize the lashes which is a plus point.

Removal

The formula is water based hence easy to remove with a makeup remover.

Overall

I have some really nice drug store mascaras that work amazing. I jus feel the formula of the MJB OMega is a little drier than I would like it to be.

MBF Advises

1. Always curl lashes before applying a mascara. Warm up the lash curler with a blow drier and curl the lashes to get a good curl that will hold.
2. Don’t do too many coats, “spider legs eyelashes” is not a look I prefer.
3. Use a card and hold it behind the lash line and apply the mascara so it doesn’t touch the eye makeup and ruin it. Do the same for the bottom lashes.

  1. You’re right. I actually bought this full price for 26 $ but this was underinpressive. Lots of drugstore mascaras work better than this.
