This beauty right here comes in a sleek black classy matte tube with a red band on the centre which indicates the shade of the lipstick. The shade number along with the shade name is mentioned on the bottom of the lipstick. The packaging of the Maybelline apple red collection lipstick is not different it’s like their previous Maybelline colour show lipstick. Overall I like the packaging of the lipstick.

So now coming to the shade of the lipstick, maybelline dare to be red is a beautiful pink toned red lipstick. I found that the lipstick has very little golden reflects, which is not even visible from a distance when you apply on the lips. I am really in love with the colour of the lipstick. The shade instantly brightens up my face as soon as I apply it. This shade will flatter all skin tone – be it a light, medium or tanned. The shade is very wearable even in day time. It is neither too dark neither to light. Its just a perfect red for the one who likes to wear red but not very bold red.

The range has five different shades of red to offer so one may easily find an appropriate shade for themselves. I wished that they would have launched some more berry toned shade. The lipstick is a very comfortable matte lipstick. As the name suggests, it’s very comfortable creamy yet matte lipstick in texture. The best part about this lipstick is that I did not find any tugging or pulling on my lips while applying it. Now this lipstick does have a tendency to transfer. When I wore, it did transfer a bit but in the end it left a deep stain behind. I generally like lipsticks that leave a stain behind. Yay so overall I am in love with this lipstick.

Texture and Formula

Now coming on texture the texture of the Maybelline creamy matte lipstick is very smooth and buttery. It glides on to the lips like butter. The best part about the lipstick is that I did not experience any tugging or pulling on the lips.

Staying Power

Coming to the staying power of the lipstick it did stay on my lips for a good amount of time. I got a wear time of about 6-7 hours which is really very good. The lipstick transferred a bit but then left a heavy stain on my lips after 6 hours.

1. Out line your lips with a lipliner to avoid lipstick from bleeding or apply lipliner completely on your lips and then apply lipstick .
2. You may find it hard to remove lipstick so I would like to advice you to use coconut oil or makeup remover to remove the lipstick completely from your lips
3. If you have completely dry or patchy lips apply a light lip balm first and then apply lipstick
