In Detail neoVeda Radiance Kumkumadi Oil Review, Swatches and My Experience

Kumkumadi sounds Ayurvedic, it sounds fancy 😀 But well Kumkumadi is another name for Saffron. We all know saffron is pretty costly, hence the price of this product is also on the higher side. Now, this is not a 100% pure saffron oil, let me clear that first. It has various other ingredients. In fact, it is mentioned 2nd to Velvetier in the ingredients list which makes me believe that this saffron not the most abundant ingredient in this product.

The neoVeda Kumkumadi oil comes in a nice amber glass bottle with a rather fancy looking golden colour top and a glass dropper inside. The overall packaging has a very luxe-retro vibes. I love the dropper mechanism though. It just picks the right amount of product. Again, glass bottles may not be very safe to travel with but they are eco-friendly.

As soon as I open the bottle, omg I fall in love with the smell of amazing exotic saffron. There are some background notes of sandalwood going on at the same time. If you’re into such exotic scents, you’re going to totally love this one.

Its is an oil, so has an oily consistency. Very similar to our typical coconut oil at room temperature. But, it does not solidify in winters. Now, it is not something I would advise using during the day time. First because its not that light, I mean it is an oil. Secondly it does not have any SPF in it. Well actually the brand itself advises to use it during the night only. Very thoughtful.

How I Use it

I have been using this over 2 months and my bottle is just about to get over. Usually I wash my face with my Keihl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser and pat it dry. After that I use a toner most of the times (sometimes I forget or skip :D). Then I take around 2-3 drops of this oil and pat it all over my facial skin and neck.

Effects

It does feel slightly heavy initially, but after like 5 minutes it feels better. The oil gets absorbed into the skin to a good extent. Best of all, this oil suits my combination skin perfectly. It has helped me cure all those dry patches I had on my skin. At the same time it did not irritate my skin or cause any breakouts.

I really keep rooting for products which are moisturising at the same time do not break me out. This product help me achieve that and I am happy with it. Really stressing the fact that it literally helped keep my skin break out free since I have been using it.

Besides moisturising, I also notice that this has a brightening effect on the skin. In the morning, my face definitely looks more alive and bright. To some extent this also helped with uneven skin tone specially around my chin area.

However, I did not see it making my skin lighter. Don’t get me wrong, it does help with some tanning but, I think you can’t lighten your skin like that. In fact, frankly all this obsession with light skin needs to just STOP in our country. We want bright and radiant, glowy skin. No we don’t want to go from NC 42 to NC 1 please.

Over a period of time, my skin looks better because this moisturises my skin nicely without irritating it. It helps with uneven skin tone and hence I think this will be loved by Indian beauties. Because we Indians mostly in real life struggle with such common problems. I like the fact that it reduces tanning on the skin with regular use and does not irritate my skin at all.

Overall Verdict

I think this is a great natural face oil for different concerns. Just make sure you use it during the night only. Also, always remember that such natural products tend to have maximum efficacy when used alone without any chemical environment. Therefore I skip using anything else on my skin whenever I use natural products like this. I just cleanse my skin, use a toner and then use this oil. I do not use a separate cream/serum or anything.

It will suit almost all skin types. I guess normal, normal to dry, combination and normal to slightly oily skin beauties would enjoy it best. Before I forget, yes this is available on all major e-retailers. In fact, it is on discount right now. Its effects surely justify the pricing. Because this product is completely natural and shows the expected results with regular use.

CONs of neoVeda Radiance Kumkumadi Oil

  1. Does not lighten the skin tone. The claims are a little shady because they somewhere claim that this is going to “lighten” the skin. I want to believe that their reference was towards “removing tan” and not actually change the skin tone.

MBF Advises

  1. Keep this away from direct sunlight because this is a natural product.
  2. I do not (thankfully) have wrinkles yet. However because it moisturises without making the skin look super oily or greasy, I want to trust that this might help with wrinkles also. If you have an experience to share, we’d love it.
  3. Glass bottle, keep it away from kids (specially active toddlers 😀 ). Travel carefully with it.
