I have been obsessing over the glitter eye makeup looks lately and have been searching for a good liquid glitter shadow, I had asked my sister to get me some shades from e.l.f cosmetics from the U.S but they were all out of stock that time.

So while I was looking for a substitute I came across these from Nicka k , they looked pretty good, had decent rating on Nykaa, whatever confusion or doubt I had was gone as soon as I saw it was on sale – flat 50% off which seemed to me was a great thing as I was experimenting with this product.

How to Use Nicka K Radiant Liquid Eye Shadow

Gently apply shadow directly to the lid with the doe foot applicator and blend. For added intensity, gently pat color directly onto the center of the lid and let dry.

It hasn’t been a long time since this brand launched in India, I had never heard of it earlier so I was a bit skeptical purchasing something from a brand I knew nothing about. I was just glad that I got a good discount on something I was trying for the first time. The liquid glitter is available in 10 shades and has covered quite a few good shades which are versatile and most commonly used.

Packaging –It comes in a small bottle like that of a nail paint, has a twist cap with a brush applicator inside. It’s a transparent plastic bottle with a black cap.

It also has a plastic cap sort of a thing inside the bottle that has a smaller hole punched than the main lid, which helps control the flow and output of the product and it doesn’t come out accumulated at the brush applicator. all the datils are mentioned on the back of the tube, the packaging is good quality plastic and is travel friendly by concept itself.

Texture – Its very pigmented and packed with very fine shimmer particles, it is not a very flowing consistency, its liquid but has quite a thick formula, which isn’t sticky and does dry down leaving only the shimmer/glitter particles.

The pigmentation is not in the base liquid of the product but the shimmers packed are what give it the pigmentation and makes it look like a concentrated golden liquid.

Color pay-off- Though it is liquid, it’s quite tricky to work with, if I apply it directly with a brush applicator that comes along with it, it is deposited in patches on the skin, even if I do layer it up it doesn’t look seamless but will still have some visible patches left where the product concentration would be lower.

If I take a drop of it on the back of my hand, pat it a little bit and then apply, it then spreads evenly but the shimmer particles transferred is much lower. The shade isn’t a typical golden but a light white base golden, which I prefer over the yellow toned golden any day.

How to remove – These are very highly concentrated with glitters and the more you layer it up, he more it builds up, so to remove such saturated glitters you have to use a good makeup remover liquid.

Using a makeup remover wipe will not be enough and will need a lot of stretching and tugging and rubbing, which will end up irritating the skin. So better way would be taking a bit of makeup remover on a cotton pad, press it on the eyelids for 20-30 secs and then gently wipe it off.

My verdict – Though it’s a bit tricky to use, I loved its pay off and how it make my eye makeup pop instantly, I cannot wait to try other shades from the same range, I am quite intrigued with its shade – Pink Lady and Marineblue Sparkle, sadly both are out of stock at the moment. Hopefully I get my hands on them soon.

MBF Advises

Try applying it with different applicators, with your fingers whatever works for you, don’t just use the brush that comes along with. I always apply a same color powder shimmer eyeshadow to fill some of the patches, but do that while the glitter is still a little damp. It is quite tricky to use but for the money it’s worth it.
