Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipstick Gul 17 Review, Swatches: Hi guys today I’ll be reviewing the nykaa matte to last liquid lipstick in the shade ‘gul’. nykaa beauty is expanding at a rapid rate and almost all of their products have impressed me so far. Most of them are quite affordable and of good quality. The matte to last liquid lipsticks are available in 26 shades. Each one of them is inspired by different cities of India.

I picked up six of them as I am a huge fan of liquid matte lipsticks. Today I’ll be doing a review on the shade gul. Gul is inspired by Kashmir. I got them from the nykaa website. You can also get them from the nykaa on trend stores.

In Detail Nykaa Matte To Last Liquid Lipstick Gul 17 Review, Swatches and My Experience

The packaging is a black and pink cardboard box which has a representation of the region it is inspired from. The product is contained in a black bottle which is of good quality. The bottle has a transparent lower body so its easy to identify the shade. The case is sleek and small enough to pop it into your purse. The applicator is a doe foot one which has a bend.

The doe foot shape ensures pickup of sufficient amount of product and the shape together with the bend helps in lining the lips and filling the corners of the lips. Even people with thin lips can use this comfortably due to the nature of the applicator.

The lipstick has fragrance added to it but I can’t put a finger on what it is.it is not too disturbing and goes away as soon as you apply it.

The lipstick is not too viscous but it is highly pigmented. The shade is a cool toned light pink shade which looks a bit neon on layering. It is quite bright and looks good on fair to medium skin tones. It’s might look too neon on dusky skin beauties.

The funny part is that the shade looks a bit different on my lips compared to my hand swatch but it is not too noticeable. Just swipe is needed to cover medium sized lips and if you are someone who has pigmented lips then you can go over once again.

It dries quickly and does not feel heavy at all on the lips. It settles to a true matte finish with absolutely no shine. Unlike most liquid lipsticks this is not too drying on the lips though I have dry, chapped lips. It’s better to use a lip balm under it and line your lips before applying this to ensure a comfortable and long wear time.

This shade can be worn to work and brightens your whole face up. I like to dab this lightly and keep my eye makeup simple when I go to college.

Coming to wear time, I have worn this for a whole day during my college fest and I needed only one reapplication. They fade away on eating especially if there is no lip liner beneath. This stays on my lips for six to seven hours if I don’t eat in between and stays for four hours maximum if I do.

It is waterproof but starts peeling off after some time. Maybe it is because of the dry nature of my lips but I experienced peeling from the sides which makes my lips look weird. This lipstick does not accentuate creases but does not mask them either.

I have included photographs of the six-hour wear test during which I had lunch and drank coffee. The best part about these lipsticks is that they leave a tint even after they fade away, the tint lasts till you use a makeup remover to wipe it away.

The main thing I liked about this lipstick is how it feels on the lips. I absolutely love the formula which is nicely pigmented but also doesn’t weigh your lips down. It gives you a feeling of having almost nothing on your lips. They do transfer a bit as I noticed some stains on my glass.
I would say these lipsticks are dupes for the HUDA BEAUTY liquid lipsticks. They look very similar on application and feel the same.

1. Always wear a lip balm before you apply liquid lipsticks, line your lips and fill them in for maximizing wear time.
2. This shade is a bright one. Bright colours like these tend to emphasize the imperfections on your face like marks etc. So, keep a flawless base if you want to rock the look.
3. Scrub your lips well before application. This gives a smooth finish.
4. It you have a deeper skin tone and would love to try this, line your lips with a deep colour lip liner and fill this shade in the centre of lips to create an ombre look.
