NYX Machinist EyeShadow Palette Ignite Review, Swatches: Hey guys, NYX is known for coming up with amazing makeup in medium price ranges. It belongs to the drugstore category as well all know. I was able to get my hands on some of the products from the “NYX Machinist Collection”. They have 3 eyeshadow palettes in it. I really liked the colour story in this palette “Ignite” and therefore purchased it.

In Detail NYX Machinist EyeShadow Palette Ignite Review, Swatches and My Experience

As soon as you look at this palette, you can’t help but get excited about all the steampunk retro vibes going on with the packaging. I mean its so super cool. Even the case is very sturdy and it has a full size mirror inside. The shades are numbered and not named. It closes with a click.

There are 12 shades of eyeshadows in the palette. The colour theme is warm toned – red and rusty. I basically love this colour theme so much. Now let us get into the details of the shadows.

First things first, these swatch and apply on the eyes very differently.

On the eyes, most shadows in the palette apply really nicely. All apply like a dream- super smooth. Very easy to blend, these shadows look very vibrant on the eyes.

All the shades have decent pigmentation, some more intense than the others. These are buildable and very easy to work with. The eyeshadows can be used wet for a more intense outcome.

The shimmery ones specially look beautiful and come out more metallic when used wet.

None of the shades seem chalky or powdery in the pan. Also I didn’t notice any significant fall out.

However, like I mentioned in the beginning, these work differently when swatched on hand. On the hand swatches, these do not look as good. This is the reason why I always read proper reviews of eyeshadows, and not just look at the swatches.

Even low quality shadows can be made to look good with artistic swatches, whereas some high quality shadows may not show up that great on hand swatches. The latter is the case with this palette.

Overall Verdict

I do think that this is slightly pricy, but the quality of shadows in the palette are really good for a drugstore brand.

This is a limited edition palette, and if you’re digging the shades in it, you should totally go for it. NYX has great offers on Ulta online as well as offline.
