Today I am reviewing a powder foundation from Nyx cosmetics from their Stay Matte But Not Flat range. I really love nyx products and have picked couple of nyx products from nykaa as they are currently on flat 25 percent off.

For fuller coverage, use the included sponge and pat onto face until desired coverage is achieved. For lighter coverage, or to set foundation, sweep lightly over face with a powder brush.

Nyx Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation comes in a black color shiny cardboard box with every necessary information printed on it. The actual compact comes packed in a black color compact case which bares nyx logo and product range name.

The compact case has 2 compartments one has compact powder and the other has its sponge applicator. There is an area with a small window at the bottom, where sponge rests for ventilation. This is because the compact powder can be used wet as well as dry. So this ventilation window will make sure the sponge can dry properly.

The lid of the powder foundation closes really tightly which ensures the product is definitely travel friendly. Overall the packaging is very sturdy but is very average looking nothing interesting.

This powder foundation comes in total of 9 shades to match all skin tones. I use the shade warm beige which is 2 shades lighter than my complexion. I purposely chose the shade which is lighter for my complexion. This is because I wanted a light powder to balance my skin out after using darker color foundations. As I have accidentally ordered few foundations which is darker for my skin, so this shade works perfectly fine for me that way.

This powder has a very mild floral smell to it which is not bothersome at all.

The texture of this foundation is the thing which I like most about it. It is soo smooth you guys and is soo silky and finely milled. It glides on my face so smoothly and seamlessly.

I have not applied this powder foundation with wet sponge or with dry sponge as I don’t like to apply my powders with that. This is because I feel that with sponges, powders give me patchy look.

I apply this with my real techniques buffing brush and in that way it works pretty good. I would recommend you to take a small amount of the product and work with it, if you take a lot in one go, it will definitely cake your face up. Hence, be careful while applying.

This nyx foundation is does not give my skin extremely matte finish. It is little moisturising but very comfortable to wear. That means dry skinned beauties can also use this without any hesitation.

The coverage it gives is a little more than any compact powder and my Lakme 9 to 5 powder foundation.

I will not say that this is medium coverage but it does not give sheer coverage either, its coverage falls somewhere in between. I build up its coverage by layering it up slowly and steadily. This way even on building up, it does not give me patchy look when I blend it properly.

This stays on my oily skin for a long period of time. Whenever I set my foundation or bb cream with it, my makeup lasts longer and I don’t feel any need to touch up even after 4 to 5 hours of application.

But after that my T- zone becomes a little shiny. Finally, it comes off really quickly you don’t need any makeup remover to remove it.
