NYX Wanderlust Advent Calendar Review: Hey guys, so NYX is known for launching vaults and mini bundles of their much loved products specially around the holiday season. So I was pretty excited when I got this as a gift from one of my friends. I knew it had the NYX cult fav – soft matte lip creams and also eyeshadows.

Before I fuse the excitement with my non stop blabbering, lets get straight into the details and review of NYX advent calendar.

In Detail NYX Wanderlust Advent Calendar Review and My Experience

First, it looks cool. It is themed like this travel-treasure hunt inside. Basically, this cardboard box has multiple small windows which are numbered. Like your 1st spot is Rome, 2nd Monte Carlo and so on. Open these windows and you have the product inside. One window has a soft matte lipstick and another has the eyeshadow.

Total, there are 12 soft matte lipsticks (in small sizes) and 12 eyeshadows (in full sizes).

Now being a girl with medium skin tone, my concerns are obvious. What if I get shades that aren’t complimentary to my skin tone. Before purchasing any kit or combo, this is the first thing that comes to my mind.

However, I did purchase this kit without knowing what shades I might get. Because, NYX wants this advent calendar to be a surprise. Therefore if you go check out their official website, you will notice that they haven’t put down the details about the content of the box.

To my pleasant surprise, I am happy with all the shades in this package. I mean, none are super light at least.

The 12 shades of NYX soft matte lip creams in this kit are 4.7 mL each. In comparison, the full size ones are 8 mL. The eyeshadows however are not available separately. You can get these shadows only in this kit.

All the shades of NYX soft matte lip creams in this kit are – Stockholm, Cannes, Milan, Morocco, Manila, Prague, Addis Ababa, Rome, Seoul, Monte Carlo, Copenhagen and finally Transylvania. In fact, I am sure most of you guys have tried at least one or two (or more) shades from NYX SMLC. They are one of NYX’s all time best sellers.

The eyeshadow shade names are literally corresponding to the lip creams. There is Stockholm, Cannes and so on till Transylvania.

Below are the swatches of all the shades. Please note, the eyeshadows aren’t sold as singles on any official nyx retailers. However, it is likely that you might find similar shadows in some of NYX palettes.

PS. When I put these shadows together, they actually look like this amazing palette. I wish NYX sees this and brings these shadows in a palette may be? The pigmentation is lovely, the texture is amazingly buttery and no shade has significant fall out. They blend nicely and well I don’t think I found any flaws with the shadows. So basically this kit was a complete win for me.

1. This advent calendar wasn’t released all over the world. They only sold this in a limited number of countries. Hence, not everyone can purchase these easily.

MBF Advises

1. Prep your lips before applying the lipstick for a lovely soft matte effect.
2. Depot the shadows and put them in a Z palette. I will do the same.
3. Grab these limited edition kits as soon as you can because once they go out of stock, they rarely make an appearance again.
