Ponds Sun Protect Non-Oily Sunscreen SPF 30 Review: Hello Everyone, Due to summers my motive is to collect different sunscreens from various brands to protect my skin from the harsh rays of sun which is unbearable for me. I hate summers. I always look forward to buy sunscreens more rather than makeup or any other skincare products.

Ponds Sun Protect Non-Oily Sunscreen SPF 30 Review

Today I am reviewing a sunscreen from the very well known brand Ponds. Ponds has recently launched this sunscreen and I spotted this in my local beauty store near my house. It is named as Ponds Sun Protect Non Oily Sunscreen.

The name Non Oily grabbed my attention as I have really oily skin and a lot of sunscreens makes my skin greasy and chip chip so I grabbed it asap and also it was very affordable too. Want to know how this sunscreen fared to me? keep on reading my views on it below.

In Detail Ponds Sun Protect Non-Oily Sunscreen SPF 30 Review, Swatches and My Experience

The Ponds Sun Protect Non Oily Sunscreen comes in a bright yellow color tube. I picked the 35 gram small tube. The tube bears all the important information about the sunscreen- its usage, ingredients, directions to apply etc.

It has a flip open cap which is very tight. Because of that I broke my nails, it is that tight so be careful while opening it. Although I am not complaining because it is definitely a pro for me.

The sunscreen tube is very tiny and compact which can be carried along easily in our handbag while going to college or office. Overall I really like its packaging especially the color of the tube its so fun and summery.

This sunscreen has a strong floral scent which disappears within a seconds after application so it is not that bothersome.

The texture of the sunscreen is creamy and thick but at the same tine if feels quite light. The texture of it reminds me of the neutrogena sunscreen which is the best selling sunscreen of all time I guess. It glides on my face very smoothly and seamlessly. I have used this sunscreen on my face and neck both. You have to make sure that you don’t use a lot of product otherwise it may feel sticky and little oily on your face.

It does not leave a white cast on your face or body which is good. It has a non-matte texture and has a shiny finish at first which becomes matte after some time in a minute or so.

I am using this sunscreen from 2 weeks regularly. I really take a good quantity of this sunscreen. I believe that applying lot of sunscreen gives me a lot of more protection from the harmful rays of sun (please correct me if I am wrong).

How I Use it

I make a random dots all over my face and neck and than massage it on my skin till I feel that it is completely absorbed by my skin. Then I wait for 6 to 7 minutes and after that start doing my regular makeup.

Effects

As you can see in pictures, ponds claims that this sunscreen helps in preventing fine lines, redness, dark spots, uneven skin tone, skin darkening. But as per my experience, I have not seen any prevention on my redness, dark spots and fine lines.

Ponds Sun Protect Non-Oily Sunscreen SPF 30 Review claims

However, on the positive side, I do feel that my skin is not getting tanned a lot like it normally does in summers. Please note, I do not apply this sunscreen when I am outdoor as I seriously don’t rely on these low SPF like 20 and 30 sunscreens especially during summers.

For outside, I always wear sunscreens which have higher SPF like 50, 70 like from Neutrogena, plum and Lotus. I apply this Ponds sunscreen when I am at home in the morning and than I reapply it after 4 hours.

MBF Advises

  1. Apply a sunscreen which is higher on spf when going out in sun especially in summers.
  2. If possible avoid going out in sun to 9 am to 4pm when sun rays are to its peak.
  3. Always apply sunscreen before cooking as the heat from the gas can also damage our skin and can make our skin look dull and dark (personal experience).
