Make up sponges have really changed the make up game in the present day world. I am a consistent buyer of sponges as they are the most easiest and convenient for me to use.

When I first bought my real techniques makeup sponge I was completely in love with this beauty. Given it’s unique shape and colour it will instantly catch one’s eye. It is soft yet give you enough firmness for you to be able to use it.

When you wet it, it grows almost three times the size. It becomes even more softer as you squeeze the water our. As it grows bigger this makes it very convenient apply your foundation or concealer as it covers a lot of area in a very less time.

Having compared it to the cult classic beauty blender make up sponge it is comperatively affordable at ₹1149 and you can ever get it on a discount. Even though I feel it is not very affordable in India as compared to the US.

The quality of the sponge does do justice to the price and will make you appreciate price that you pay. We cannot find enough good choices of makeup sponges in Indian market at this price point.

It has a very unique shape. It has three different sides and function of each is:

flat side-which is perfect for your neck

Round side- cheek area & to apply buff your foundation all over your face

pointed side-best if you want to go with the under eye area and also the corners of your nose.

Rounded side of the sponge is good for applying make up on your cheek area and also for buffing out the entire base of your make up look. And the blunt flat side to pat on the foundation.

It did absorb some amount of the product and therefore you can waste a bit of your expensive make up product which is bound to happen. I think regular washing can prevent the foundation buildup inside the sponge.

It works well with dry powder based and liquid based make up products. you could even set your under eyes with this sponge without being afraid.

The softness on this once is decent at first. But once you wet it, it is extremely soft and it’s almost comparable to the beauty blender. It has certainly some amount of firmness to it. It bounces back pretty quickly when squeezed.

One problem I faced was that it got damaged very quickly. I don’t even have long nails but if it is not cleaned gently it will tend to nick from the sides and this will hurt your sponge, pocket and heart all together.

I’ve managed to damaged the entire round edge of the sponge just by washing it regularly. I’ve not experienced such a thing even with a $1 makeup sponge. Also it is a bit of a work to get the absorbed makeup out in case you let it sit for days together.

Despite a few drawbacks I have been in love with this sponge ever since I started using it and I have not gone back to any other thing. It is available in India and you can get it for a cheaper price.

It is present in various other shapes and even sets. If you can I’d suggest you to get it from a drugstore at US where you can get 4 sponges for the price of 1 in India

It gives a flawless finish and does not leave streaky marks on my face which I am not a big fan of. It does buff out the foundation well along with other parts of the makeup.

Overall a great product and a great buy!
