The mask comes in a clean white translucent tube with a flip cap. This allows you to figure out how much product is there in the tube and is easy to squeeze out as well. This is an exfoliator and face mask in one!

It feels light and fresh as a mask and the idea is that instead of simply washing it off, you wet your face and scrub it as an exfoliator whilst you remove it. I will be honest, I was sceptical about this mask when I massaged it onto my face. The first impression was that it was coarse and grainy. I was not hoping for any action in the five minutes for which I was to leave it on my face indicated in the directions. But I was in for a surprise. In exactly five minutes, the product had somewhat dried and was almost completely absorbed into my skin; only a thin white layer, with almost no grains remained.

I washed it off – and doing this was easy – the exfoliator+mask came off rather easily. What was the best was how my skin felt thereafter. I couldn’t keep my own hands off my face! It was that smooth and silky. There was not an iota of dryness that is usually associated with scrubs. So much so I almost skipped moisturizer – but following ritual, I didn’t. I used very little of moisturizer after the scrubbing.

After a month of using this scrub – at least once a week, my skin looks and feels great. This product has become an integral part of my regular skin care regime. The other thing that I love about this mask is that it doesn’t have to be left on for too long, 10 minutes maximum but if you want to leave it on for longer then it doesn’t dry out or completely stick to your skin like some non-clay masks do. A gentle, yet effective exfoliating face scrub and mask in one. Gently loosens and peels away impurities and dead skin cells while relaxing and smoothing facial contours.

How I Use it

I cleanse my face thoroughly with a mild face wash. While it is still damp, I squeeze out a coin-sized amount and apply it on my face. I massage my face in circular movements using my fingertips. I then let the product stay for 5-7 minutes and wash it off with water. Using this product after a day out in the sun is a must for me. I’ve tried it as a mask with and without exfoliating afterwards and both ways my skin felt super smooth and renewed.

Effects of Sephora Double Duty Mask + Exfoliator

The Sephora Double Duty Mask+Exfoliator refines the surface of the skin while smoothing facial components. The jojoba globules remove dead skin cells without aggravating the skin. Thanks to jojoba and shea butter being among this product’s key ingredients, it feels quite nourishing and hydrating on the skin.

It does make a nice 3-minute daily mask, just to refresh and revitalize your skin a little bit. It does smooth out rough, drier skin areas on my face and is a very gentle product, which is why I can get away with using it on a daily basis. I use it thrice a week – but only during days that I am regularly going out on a daily basis. Also a good one for those who are afraid of using something more intense; or for those who have sensitive skin. Some hard scrubs also actually break your capillaries. This one doesn’t. Also if you are on a hunt for a hydrating exfoliator – this is it.
