Ted Baker Opulent Petal Lip Balm Review: Hi everyone, I’m back with yet another review. If you also happen to suffer from chapped lips throughout the year, you’re going to find this post informative. I’m going to review Ted Baker lip balm in Opulent Petal today.

Ted Baker Opulent Petal Lip Balm Review

I’ve been suffering from chapped lips since my childhood and used to keep tearing off the flakes. Bad habit, I know! But those who can relate must know what it feels. Be it summers, or winters, I always suffered. Then a friend suggested me to use vaseline, another one suggested to use something called as ‘lip balm’ and the story continues with me using lip balms from various brands now.

Trust me, after being dissatisfied from Vaseline, Avon, Maybelline, Nivea, Forest essentials (I know!), Kiehls (again, I know!), Smith and Co, Sephora, Salvatore Ferragamo (trust me I was not happy) I was extremely hopeless when I bought this one. Read on to know how my experience was.

About Ted Baker Opulent Petal Lip Balm

Ted Baker harks back to the glamour and luxury of yesteryear with the ultra-feminine Porcelain Rose bath and body collection.

Inspired by a curious trinket discovered at a New York auction, the Porcelain Rose collection reimagines one of Ted’s signature floral prints as a trio of enchanting fragrances: Blush Pink, Pretty Pearl and Opulent Petal. Comprising romantic bouquets with luscious fruits, subtle spices and precious woods, the collection concocts a floral fantasy that is as delicate and beguiling as its namesake.

In Detail Ted Baker Opulent Petal Lip Balm Review, Swatches and My experience

I bought it off Boots recently and I didn’t have any expectations from it when I bought it. To be honest, I solely bought it for its brand name! And also, because I loved the packaging. Speaking of which, it comes in a very luxurious packaging with a rose gold lid and translucent jar with white coloured balm peeking through it. It is a squared shaped jar and is not flimsy at all! I was very impressed by it in fact.the outer carton bears the name of the brand and is somewhat fancy.

Coming to the balm itself, even during summers, the consistency of the balm is not at all runny which I love because for me, it is a good sign that the lip balm works (yes, I know, I’m silly). It sits nicely in it’s tub and doesn’t run or drip. Imagine the consistency of Vaseline petroleum jelly during winters….Firm!
Since it is the opulent petal version, it has a hint of rose fragrance which is not at all strong or disturbing and immediately fades away after application. So people who don’t like fragrant lip balms can also give it a try.

The colour is white (translucent white) and the texture is creamy. I used to scoop it out with my nails but I’ve stopped it and use a spatula instead. A little quantity is enough to cover my lips.

The balm sits on my lips, hydrating them well for hours together. During the day I always wear it under my lipstick and at night, I slather a rather large quantity of it and when I wake up in the morning, my lips are actually ‘petal soft’. When I first experienced it, I was amazed that ‘this one works!!!” It was like a dream come true. And in fact, even if I skip it during the day, my lips remain soft from the previous night.

Under matte lipsticks, it doesn’t let the lips be tight and stretchy. Under creamy ones, the lipstick doesn’t feather or bleed. The balm stays there on your lips providing all the hydration and protection and repair that it is supposed to do. I must say I’m pretty impressed with this one.

There is one suggestion I would like to give to people with extremely chapped lips like mine. Try exfoliating your lips when you first use it. I did it and that way, the dry flakes do not interfere in its repair.
