In Detail Wet n Wild Glitter Palette Ethereal Review, Swatches and My Experience

Wet N Wild fantasy makers glitter palette, they have 4 variants
Ethereal
Neutrals
Brights
Heavy metals

I have the variant ethereal with me, though I liked the brights version as well but ended up buying ethereal.

It comes in a standard wet n wild packing same as the others, white transparent plastic top with a black bottom box. It’s a decent quality plastic, not too flimsy not too sturdy but I won’t trust the packing blindly. It locks properly but it’s prone to breaking very easily, its travel friendly spillage wise but it has to kept properly.

This palette doesn’t come with a mirror but however comes with an applicator, it’s a small sponge tip eyeshadow applicator which in general isn’t very useful in applying eyeshadows, so trying to apply this creamy glitter one with it seems out of the question but to my surprise this formula does transfer nicely with a sponge tip. It picks up more colour and transfers a lot more as compared to any other brush or even your fingers.

If we talk about the formula is very creamy, its almost gel like texture with big glitter particles, it very very soft but not at all pigmented. It looks very dark and closely packed glitter in the pan, but it will disappoint you.

It’s the kind of glitter we used for our arts and crafts, its that size. The glitter particles should have been smaller in size and much more pigmented. Another issue with the formula is it doesn’t dry up after application. It’ll remain the gel like eyeshadow and ultimately be all over the face, it will fall out and start to crease on the eyes. Making its look very untidy. You keep on blending it, it will keep on spreading, it will not stay put.

So, if you have to wear it only for a couple of hours tops, take a bit of product and pack it on a powder product and don’t blend it a lot and use a brush or a fresh sponge tip applicator for every color. As it sticks on to the applicator and mixes up with the other colour.

As you can see, there are 6 shades in the palette, there is a green tinted blue, white, silver, pink, purple and a dark green. The only colour that has some pigment to it is the dark green one that’s it.

I had very different expectations from it but if you are a beginner and not a huge fan of too much makeup this is something you can use just as a thin layer on top of your same colour eyeshadows. Like dark green glitter on dark green powder, pink glitter on pink shadows and like that.

I have swatched them in their true form and also a couple of them which powder base eyeshadows as well. You will notice the difference in an instant.

It’s complete waste of money. It’s limited edition one and won’t be available in the market for long so if you are looking for a simple easy to use minimal kind of glitter, this might be the product for some.

But its just not for me, I prefer the wet n wild singles, powder-based glitters more over this one.

How to clean Wet n Wild glitters

  1. Its very difficult to clean, it falls out a lot so it’s everywhere, it doesn’t dry out so it will transfer as well.
  2. Use a very good makeup remover, take some of it on a cotton pad, and remover gently.
  3. It there is still product left, mix a bit of baby oil with it and then try to remove it. It should work.

MBF Advises

  1. Its not for everyone, there are a lot of other options available from the same brand, give that a try.
  2. If you have bought it and love the shades and believe in the concept of less is more, use it with powder products, don’t blend it bit pack it on top of the powder eye shadows don’t try to mix the two textures, these are gel based creamy ones mixing them with powder ones is a big no .
