With all the brands coming with new collections every day, we are obviously going to fall for one product or another. I saw this collection Rebel rose by Wet N Wild and found it very interesting. Its not the typical makeup products we see from this brand or any brand in general. Its chicly grunge, daring but delicately strong and really gorgeous.

It was launched and its written-on packaging that its limited edition but that’s not the case, it still available on various e-commerce websites and it’s been a while since it launched. 

I got the house of thorns variant. the collection has 3 eyeshadow quads, the other two being bed of roses, secret garden rendezvous. How to Use Wet n Wild Rebel Rose Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad House of Thorns

In Detail Wet n Wild Rebel Rose Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad House of Thorns and My Experience

Wet N Wild – House of Thorns, beautifully packed eyeshadow palette, aesthetically pleasing and intriguing. It has a transparent top with black plastic body. Palette has a square packaging with eyeshadows in a circular pans. The black plastic has a self-print to it which gives it that grunge yet delicate effect. The plastic is of decent quality.

Also, the top doesn’t feel that reliable to me. I don’t know if it’ll be break resistant. The bottom isn’t of very sturdy built either but because of the plastic stuck on it, it has got some reliability.  I wouldn’t trust the packaging blindly.

It doesn’t come with a mirror or applicator of any sort, the product is of a decent size, a small brush or sponge tip applicator would have been a plus with this. The eyeshadows are stamped into a rose pattern which looks so beautiful, you wouldn’t want to ruin it by using it. it’s has a very beautiful feel to it.

It’s a small palette with just 4 shades- 2 mattes and 2 shimmers. There is matte black, matte maroon (dark red with pink undertone), a dark black toned golden which feels sort of a bronze color and a dark green.

The shimmers are very pigmented, they are buttery smooth easy to blend and work with, great payoff even without a setting spray. If we talk about the mattes, they aren’t as good as the shimmers.

The black is okay it’s not highly smooth, or buttery. It is decently pigmented, goes on smooth. Have to blend a lot but it doesn’t get flaky or chalky. If we talk about the maroon shade, it’s a big disappointment. It is quite pigmented but doesn’t transfer easily, the texture is grainy, doesn’t feel even or buttery at all. Its like a different formula from the rest 3 colours. When I tried to blend it, the colour faded off. It didn’t transfer easily and when it did, it was all patchy and untidy. This colour is a big no. No matter how much I tried to blend it, it just didn’t work. 

The shade in this palette are not of the same colour family, so using the palette alone for a lot of eye makeup if not possible. It has a very limited use. You can’t get a lot out of this product.

You can use it with other palettes of course, the shades are good and go with a lot of other shades. That ways if you consider using it for that purpose. 

The eyeshadows come off with a makeup remover, don’t leave any residue or color stain. Using a good makeup remover is must as tugging and rubbing wipes on the eye lids is not at all good for the skin. So start with using a good makeup remover to avoid any hassle.

MBF Advises

Prime and set the eyes well before applying the shadows. the black even though is not supremely pigmented but still it’s a dark colour start with a very light hand. Maroon gets patchy so make sure you work a little area at a time and blend well, like really well.

The shimmers would be easy work so no worries there. Try out different palettes, mix and match and have fun with the colours  😊
