In Detail Wet n Wild Rosé In The Air Color Icon Eyeshadow 10 Pan Palette Review, Swatches and My Experience

I got this from hokmakeup at an offer price of 315 rupees. I was impressed seeing the palette on receiving it. It looked prettier than in the photos and was just as compact as I assumed it would be. The product case is a transparent plastic one which is convenient because one can easily identify the shades. The palette does not have a mirror or its own applicator which is quite inconvenient especially during travel.

The color icon range has many variants each one having ten shades so an opaque case would confuse us if we own more than one from the range. The shade range amazed me as they have put together an array of shades which are sufficient to create a wide range of looks ranging from glamourous smoky eyes to a nude look.

There are two transition shades at the top and bottom which are clearly marked as ‘transition’ and this would help beginners to identify it. I usually apply concealer before applying eyeshadow and I like to set it with a nude or white matte eyeshadow. Some palettes do not have such matte nude or cream shades and I have to use another palette to set the concealer.

However, this palette has such a shade despite having just ten shades.
The palette has two shimmers and eight matte shades. The shimmery shades are a gold one and a brown one which can be applied alone or as a topper. There are transition shades for cool and warm toned skin. One Is a cool toned brown and the other a warm toned one so people of different undertones can use this comfortably.

Apart from the two transition shades there are six others matte shades. One thing I noticed about this palette is that not all the matte shades swatch the same. The purple shade is a bit patchy and difficult to blend and so is the lilac one. The other matte shades are creamy, pigmented and blend beautifully. The shimmers are not like the usual shimmer shades we see in other eyeshadow palettes. Usually the shimmers are extremely pigmented but these two shades quite disappointed me as it is not intense at all. It looks good when applied alone but as a topper it doesn’t show up as well as I wanted it to.

The shades are very less fallout but I would not say there is no fallout at all. The shimmer shades have considerably less fallout compared to shimmer shades in other palettes I have used.

The shades do not have names and hence I have numbered them for your ease of understanding.

The shades

  1. It is a cool toned transition shade which looks muddy and ashy on my yellow skin.it takes a little effort for this to show up if you are on the deeper side of skin tone
  2. It is a cream coloured matte shade which is not chalky at all. Usually such pale matte shades in drugstore brand palettes are chalky and powdery but this one is pigmented and creamy and can be used a good base shade.
  3. It is a dull coral shade which is more of a burnt orange shade. The colour shows up well on the eyelid and looks beautiful on all skin tones. This shade can be worn alone for a simple day time look.
  4. It is gold shimmer eyeshadow which is not that pigmented. Like all shimmers they look best when applied with fingers. I would suggest using concealer if your applying this as a topper or else the colour will not be shown much. This can be worn alone along with bold lips and dewy skin for a shimmery festive look. This shade looks best on medium yellow skin tones. This shade can be used a brow bone highlight.
  5. It is a maroon shade which is more towards the brownish side.it is a rust shade which will look bomb on deeper skin tones. This shade is not at all bright and looks extremely classy.
  6. This eyeshadow is a lilac one but it is a bit chalky and does not show up well on the skin unless you are fair. I have medium skin tone and I did not like the way it looked on my eye.
  7. This is a purple matte shadow which looks extremely beautiful but disappointed me on swatching and application.it swatches extremely patchy and the true colour does not show up unless you use multiple coats. The formula is quite weird and it is hard to pick up the product. On first sight this was my favourite shade and I’m unhappy with the way it turned out.
  8. Brown shimmery shade which Is warm toned and looks good when paired with shades 3,5 and 9.
  9. This is a chocolate brown shade which can also be used as an eyebrow powder for people having dark brown brows. This shade is pigmented and shows up well on the skin, it can be a transition shade for your beautiful chocolate skinned girls out there. Fairer skin tones can use this to create a beautiful brown Smokey eye
  10. It is a warm toned transition shade and applies quite well.it is creamy and pigmented. The only downside to this is that deeper skin tones cannot use this as a transition shade.

Coming to the wear time, these lasted on me for half a day without any fading. I usually use a concealer all over my eyelid, set it with the white shade and apply the rest of the colours. These eyeshadows layer well and do not look too patchy on doing so. if I have a function to attend, I spray some makeup fixing spray so that it does not fade away. These eyeshadows do not require an eye primer unless you prefer to use one to boost the pigmentation and stay. A good old concealer does the trick for these shadows.

These come off easily with a water-based makeup remover and do not stain the eyelid.

The Bottomline

Overall, I liked almost all the eyeshadows and liked the assortment of shades which can be coupled with each other in any way or worn alone. There are no bright or fun shades and all of them are wearable. You can use this palette to create soft neutral look for work or you can create festive looks combining the bright shades and the shimmers. If you are a person who hates buying a lot of makeup this palette is a perfect drugstore option for you. Beginners to makeup can buy this palette as this is all you need to create an entire look.

It is great for travelling with as it is compact (you can pop it in your handbag), sturdy and versatile. I take this with me when I go to college If I have to go out after college to add some colour to my eyes.

When compared to other drugstore palettes, I did not find a palette better than this for this price. I am amazed at how inexpensive it is. Maybelline’s cheapest palette is around 600 and it has just five shades in a tiny case and the quality is extremely poor. So I would say 499 for this amazing palette is complete and total deal. You can easily get this at discount on online stores like hokmakeup, nykaa etc.

MBF Advises

  1. Always use a cream base while applying eyeshadows and set it with compact powder, translucent powder or a nude eyeshadow. This ensures smooth application and pigmentation.
  2. Tap your eyeshadow brush after picking up product so that excess product will fly off and will not cause fall outs on your face
  3. Little is more. Blend it well, slowly increasing the pigmentation and do not try to build it in one go.
  4. Always be careful to blend eyeshadows properly and create a smooth transition. The different shades have to blend into each other beautifully.
  5. While doing Smokey eyes bake under eyes so that fall outs can be dusted away.

Will I recommend this

Absolutely. Go for it.you will not regret it.
