In Detail Guess Girl Eau de Toilette Review and My Experience

Guess Girl EDT is in an oval shaped ergonomic glass bottle that was encased in a hard card paper box with black and pink design. Originally launched in February 2013 with Amber Heard as the face of the fragrance, the bottle has a pink mesh/ net flower bound to the upper cap with a contrasting black ribbon. The perfume itself is a pretty rose pink in colour. The Marciano brothers launched the Guess brand in 1981 and secured their legacy in the American designer jeans market soon after.

Uncompromising quality and integrity are the cornerstones of their upscale fashion brand, which includes clothing, jewelry, watches, shoes, and an innovative line of perfumes for men and women. While the Girl EDT does not smell original, it still smells nice.

Guess Girl engulfs you with a sharp and sweet burst of raspberry, and this is quickly followed by hints of bergamot and melon. After about a minute the fruity notes become softer, but they never disappear completely and let the stage be taken over by orchid and lily. The final settling is of sandalwood with toasted vanilla.

Guess Girl definitely smells very fresh and youthful. There is a child-like buoyancy in the entire opening up of the fragrance, and it is quite a pity that it only stays on the skin for 3-4 hours (at least for me).

If you’re into sweet, feminine and youthful fruity floral scents, you’ll like this. But prepare to spritz it on at least 2-3 times in a day.

My favourite moment is when the fruit notes relax – the heart of the perfume – comprising of exotic flowers like Brazilian paradise orchid, Provencal acacia, and aromatic white lilies is truly magical. The Australian sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla make it powdery and summery. Bouncy, lively, and effervescent, this breeze of a perfume can be worn during the day as well as in the evening.

How I Use it

I use a little sandalwood body oil after my bath and then spray the EDT on my wrists and at the back of my knees on damp skin. This tends to accentuate the fragrance and makes it stay longer.

Effects

Guess Girl makes an entrance with a burst of vibrant fruits. Familiar flowers make you ride the breeze of freshness. The woody aroma of sandal and vanilla top off the after effect. According to guess the official notes are:

Top notes: Raspberry Nectar, Melon, Bergamot Mist
Middle Notes: Brazilian Paradise Orchid, Provence Acacia Flower, Lily
Base Notes: Australian Sandalwood, Madagascar Vanilla

I loved its light nature – it is not overpowering and yet announces its presence. So I can still smell nice without overwhelming or breaking into sneezes.
