In Detail Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review, Swatches and My Experience

Too Faced Born This Way foundation comes in a rectangular cardboard box which has all the detailed information as well as instructions printed on the front and back of the box. The actual foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle which has a pump dispenser. The foundation has a shut lock cap over the pump, which closes tightly and hence it can be carried along with us easily. I really loved it’s packaging it’s simple but it feels and looks luxe.

The shade I am reviewing is Praline. I was very confused on what shade should I pick so I went ahead and open a website called Findation and there I got to know my shade is Praline as I mentioned my foundation shade is Nc 42 in Mac and Brown Sugar in Huda Beauty. And I went ahead and ordered and to my surprise the shade is an exact match of my skin tone and I am very happy as I always fail in selecting foundation shades online.

The consistency of the foundation is semi thick not very liquid-y nor too thick. Also the texture is smooth and creamy. The thing I love the most about this foundation is that it is so easy to blend. It blends and works beautifully with any tool whether it’s your fingers, beauty blender or a foundation brush. I love to apply it both with a sponge as well as a brush.

True to its claim this is a medium to full coverage foundation. With one layer it gives medium coverage and covers all my skin imperfections which are a little bit of redness, uneven skin tone and few acne marks. With another layer, it is easily buildable to up to a full coverage I prefer a little more coverage as I have very problematic skin like acne marks and dark circles.

The foundation is very light weight and provides a Demi matte finish. It does not feel heavy or cake-y even when I applied it in layers. The foundation does not clings into dry patches or accentuate fine lines or open pores.

It stays for a good amount of time without budging. Since it’s a Demi matte finish foundation I set it with my compact as I have oily skin and I am good to go. I think dry skin people will absolutely love this foundation. I do not feel the need to touch up or freshen up my makeup for 4 to 5 hours, but after that I had to apply a powder as my face becomes little oily on nose and forehead.

MBF Advises

Overall it’s a good foundation and being a high end product the price is little high as they have increased the price when it was launched the price was 2600 and now it has hiked to 2900. If you are crazy about makeup and love to try different products than you should definitely buy this one. I would skip this foundation and would not re- purchase it as there are many good foundation at half of this rate available in drugstore brands here in India. Even in USA, its a good one time try, but if you’re okay with using drugstore foundations, some actually perform as good as expensive ones like this one.
