The packaging of the kajal tell you its shade. Hence, its easy to spot these if you keep them with other pencil makeup items. One end has the pencil tip kajal while the other end has a smudger. Both the ends are secured with transparent caps.

As far as the packaging is concerned, its everything one can need except for the fact that its a sharpen-able kajal pencil. This means you don’t have the twist up mechanism, you need to sharpen the product as you keep using it. The good news is, each kajal comes with a sharpener.

The texture of the kajal itself is extremely creamy and smooth although it comes in a pencil form. When you apply this on the skin, it almost feels like a creamy gel. Therefore, needless to say it offers 100% opaque pigmentation even in a single swipe. Every single one of these kajals is intensely pigmented.

Like the company claims, they do dry down to a soft or silky matte finish. Now dry matte, but rather a softer matte finish with intense pigmentation. Let us talk about each shade below:

Individual Shades Description of Faces Ultime Pro Mystic Kajal

Green 01 – This is a beautiful deep dark green shade. I almost want to call it a deep seaweed green.
Brown 02 – The brown is a proper burnt sienna brown.
Blue 03 – A rich prussian blue colour straight forward.
Grey 04 – It is an intense bluish lavender grey shade. Not a very usual colour, but quite unique if you are into such shades.

Longevity, Wearability

The company claims that the kajals would last upto 8 hours. However, it completely depends on your skin type as well as the weather in your area. On oily skin in a humid area, this definitely wont stay smudge free for 8 hours. However on normal skin in a cooler area, this can last upto 8 hours smudge free.

Its not a 100% water proof formula, however it does resist water and won’t come off very easily. Therefore, we advise you to use a very good quality eye makeup remover while trying to remove the product from your eyes. Never tug on pull your eyelids while removing any sort of eye makeup, its better to invest in some good quality makeup removers rather than irritating the delicate eye area skin.

Overall Verdict

We think this is a fantastic launch by Faces. We may have loved some more shades in this range. However we are quite blown away by the quality of these kajals. If you’re someone who is into intensely pigmented, creamy kajals which dry to a matte finish, you are in for a treat. Its because at Rs. 599/- they fall on the lower cost spectrum as compared to other colourful kajals in the market.
