Flower Beauty has been a new lauch in India. It is a makeup range from the famous actress Drew Berrymore. Her range had been a big hit in the States and I wanted to give it a shot myself. I was intrigued by this unique makeup sponge in the market. The packing is pretty standard. It comes in a long box with plastic outer body containing the sponge. I’d say the packaging is a waste and nothing else.

Coming onto to the actual sponge itself. It is a light lavender colour sponge. When I first felt it, it was decently soft. The texture of the sponge is very nice. It feels luxurious in one’s hand. It is very much comparable to the cult classic Beauty Blender when it comes to the softness.

When I soaked the sponge it grow almost three time the size. After that the real magic of this sponge unfurled. When I drain all the water this sponge become light as a cloud. It was squishier than even before. I’d say I liked it more than the beauty blender as it did not bleed any colour and have the softest feel ever.

The softness of this got even better as I kept using it over a period of a month. It become very light and I throughly enjoyed using this product every morning. You just need the slightest damp to get a great coverage.

As said before the softness on this is very much compared to the cult classic beauty blender. It is just incredibly soft. It is almost half the price of a beauty blender yet the quality of it feels superior than the beauty blender.

It is even more cheaper in US than India. I’d say it’s amazing how you can get a better or almost comparable quality at less price like of this product.

The shape of this sponge is very unique. Initially someone might be intimidated by it so here’s a quick guide

Usage Instructions

-Use the slanting teardrop side for contouring and to buff the foundation in smaller areas like the corner of the eye.
-Round base can be used to buff the foundation and other products
-The pointy tip can be used for eyes and nose

It is very easy to use and I found the round base to buff my foundation and concealer into my skin beautifully. It gives a fresh and non-streaky look which is a win-win for me. It gives a rich airbrushed look which is always a good look.

Despite it’s lightness, it doesn’t soak up tonnes of product so be rest assured you won’t waste a lot of your expensive foundation. It will take up the least of the amount and thus ends up giving you maximum coverage.

One thing I was sceptical of was the bleeding of the colour and if it would get stained. The colour is light and very different. You won’t find a sponge of this colour in the market.

Good news is when I drain it no colour ever comes out which is a big problem with beauty blender. The colour hasn’t faded despite my regular usage. Also it didn’t get stained as I washed it frequently.

It is very easy to wash and the product seeps out in a matter of minutes. The only problem is the foundation might stain the sponge if left in for long.

Overall, I’m in love with this product. It works very well and the price is decent. I’d recommend everyone to try this beauty as you won’t be disappointed.
