Hello my beautiful friends, I hope you guys had a tremendous week. This year honestly has flown away in a flash. I do not believe that we are already in October.

Livon Silky Potion Detangling Hair Fluid Review Cuti Soft formula

Well, today we will talk about this product which has been in the Indian market since forever. I remember using this when I used to go to school which was approximately 6.5-7 years ago. I have naturally wavy-curly hair due to which it was always difficult for me to set my hair on time for the school. I did use this product for a long time. Now, a few months back, I bought this again mostly because of overwhelming nostalgia when I saw it at a store 😀

How to Use

Damp your hair with little bit of water and then apply Livon Silky Potion on the hair. After applying the silky potion, comb as usual and let the hair air-dry. You need not wash off, its a leave-on conditioner.

In Detail Livon Silky Potion Detangling Hair Fluid Review and My Experience

Everyone who has used this would recognise it since Livon never changed its packaging. Livon Silky Potion comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a flip open top. It has two tiny labels at the front and back mentioning the basic details about the product. It did come in a carton box which I guess I threw away. Packaging wise I think its pretty safe to travel with.

As I open the cap, I get this really peculiar smell. I cannot put my finger on a single entity to describe the smell. Its not something I like however not very offensive either. Smell hardly lasts for a couple of hours post application, noticeable only from a really close distance. Moving on, this has a consistency of a typical hair serum. Moderately thick without any stickiness.

How I Use it

After washing my hair, I usually let my hair air dry. After it is around 7-80% dry, I take a coin sized amount of this product. (If you have short hair, take a smaller amount.) I spread it on my palms and apply it on the lengths of my hair from the level of my ears till my hair ends. I never apply this on my scalp area.

It immediately detangles the hair and makes it super easy to run a comb through my hair. I am talking about moderately tangled hair. It makes my hair feel silky, smooth and reduces the frizz to a significant amount. However let me mention here, if used in excess, this can make the hair look greasy. Although even at this point, your hair won’t really feel greasy but it would appear as if you have your hair loaded with products.

I would also like to mention here that I do not use this product regularly. It is very important to note that this product contains silicones in heavy amounts which is not good for hair in the long run. If used regularly, this would coat the individual hair strands and weigh down the hair. It basically accumulates in the hair if you use this regularly and make it look dull.

So I use this product only at times when I am in a hurry and my hair is really tangled up. I do not use this as my regular hair product. Also whenever I use it, I make sure that I use a clarifying shampoo the next time I wash my hair. Clarifying shampoo removes all such product build up in the hair and really lets the hair strands de-coat.

While this product does its job pretty nicely, I have to say the ingredients i.e. silicones are not great for the hair in the long run.

PROs of Livon Silky Potion Detangling Hair Fluid

1. Simple, easy to use and travel friendly packaging.
2. Detangles hair and makes them smooth with added shine when used in proper quantity.
3. Does not make the hair sticky.
4. Tames some amount of frizz.
5. Easily available.

CONs of Livon Silky Potion Detangling Hair Fluid

1. Loaded with silicones.
2. Does not condition or nourish the hair in anyway.
3. Long term use makes the hair dull and coats the hair with silicones.
4. Costly because it really doesn’t do anything special apart from detangling, and we have many hair detanglers in the market which are not so costly and do not contain so much silicones.
5. Should only be used on freshly washed hair, or it tends to make the hair look sticky/greasy/dull.
6. What is Cuti-Soft formula?? Anyone?? 😮

MBF Advices

This product according to me is meant for emergency use. I would absolutely not advice anyone to use this on a regular basis since its loaded with silicones. As a detangler it works well but then again, do not start using it as a hair serum. Livon markets this as a detangler fluid which is completely justified. They never said that its a hair serum or it would nourish the hair. So I recommend using it as a hair detangler only in minimal amounts.
