LUSH Ocean Salt Cleanser Review

Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt, dead skin and blockages for a bright, fresh face. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, leaving it balanced and soft. The antibacterial effects of lime and vodka are ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes and leave skin visibly brightened. It’s no wonder Ocean Salt is so enormously popular!

LUSH Ocean Salt Cleanser Review
Suitable for all skin types: Ocean Salt is beneficial for combination to dull and oily skin, and works well to occasionally exfoliate dry skin.
Our most exfoliating cleanser: Ocean Salt contains a combination of coarse and fine sea salt.
For an invigorating scrub: Salt and citrus oils can cause irritation for sensitive skin types. If you’re quite sensitive, we suggest using a gentler product.
How to use:

Splash water on your face and apply about a teaspoonful of scrub using an upward, circular motion to exfoliate and refresh the skin. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry. Ocean Salt can also be used on other parts of the body including chest, back, arms and legs.

My opinion:

As I was saying, I just can’t have enough of lush. I love their products. Of course they are natural and above all animal friendly. If you have a pet, you will know how important it is to give a stop to animal testing.
Moving on, This product comes in a standard LUSH jar which is a black plastic jar as shown in the picture.
They do not have any fancy external packaging around it because according to them, the product inside has to be more important, and trust me I couldn’t agree more.
Now, if you have seen it on the pictures, it appears blue. When I bought it, there was some blue on the top, but the SA had told me to take a spatula and blend the whole product before using. I did that, and eventually the blue tinge came down to minimum.
The consistency of the product is real grainy. It has these chunks of salt in a creamy base. So, if you have a very sensitive skin, you might want to use it with caution.
It smells absolutely fantastic. It smells of vodka mixed with lemons! Yes, that is exactly what this product is made of, interesting isn’t it?
LUSH Ocean Salt Cleanser Review
So I have used this product in multiple ways and loved it every time. Mostly I use this as a face cleanser once or twice a week. Now, I have oily-combination skin. I do not generally break out except for that time of the month. But of course, I get one or two tiny imps now and then due to stress etc. This product contains salt, when you apply this on your skin, what salt does is, it creates a hyperosmolar environment and sucks the bacteria out of your skin and kills them. Additionally the vodka, which is basically alcohol, works in a similar way.  Now you must be worried, if it’s going to desiccate your skin, the answer is NO, it is in fact going to moisturize your skin. This has avocado, coconut butter, lime oil, seaweed and glycerin. These are excellent moisturizing agents.
To put it in a nutshell, it is going to give you an ultra cleansing experience getting rid of bacteria and dirt and at the same time it will moisturize your skin making it super soft and smooth.
Now, again just because this is a moisturizing scrub, you are not going to skip on your CTM routine. I would suggest you to still use a good moisturizing cream or serum on your face.
I use it as a body exfoliator may be 3-4 times a week. It works excellent and leaves  your skin soft and supple. I follow it with a rich moisturizing lotion because in general the skin on my body is normal to dry. So, I like to keep it moisturized as much as I can.

One more way that you can use this is before shaving your legs. Because of the coarse salt particles in it, it will work as an excellent scrub also help with the ingrown hairs.
Overall speaking, the thing I love the most about this baby is, it leaves your skin really clean and glowing. After sometime, it is going to even out your skin and it gets rid of tiny bumps on the skin. Your acne will start disappearing in no time. Plus it will make your skin baby smooth and clear.
According to me, this is a must buy from LUSH. 🙂
