The area around your eyes is the most delicate area on your skin. The thickness of the skin is less so, whatever you put around that area, gets absorbed into your blood vessels pretty easily. These are tiny vessels embedded in your epidermal layer and are responsible for the blue hue in some people in the under eye area.
Now, if you are into make up, you know your eye area is one area where maximum amount of pigments etc are used, be it a concealer, kohl, liner, eye shadow, primer etc etc. So it is extremely important for us to treat the eye area with utmost gentleness and care.
I picked this one as it had no sulfates and phthalates. If not completely, still body shop products are more natural than many other cosmetic brands.
It comes in this simple opaque white flip top sturdy bottle. I would say the amount is not bad for the price. The content is a very clear fluid almost like water.
I like to take this on a cotton pad and put it around my eyes for a couple of seconds, and then in gentle circular motions, my eye make up comes right off. Though I need to repeat it twice or may be thrice sometimes to completely get the job done. May be because it is a gentle cleanser, it needs two or three takes. Also it claims to condition your lashes and makes them silky, well honestly, everyone’s lash hair is silky basically because it doesn’t undergo as much friction.
Also I would say this isn’t very impressive when it comes to removing your waterproof make up. I mean it does take out parts but leaves the product in flakes around your eyes which I find pretty gross. So I never use it if I have water proof make up on.
Because this is a gentle product, I have often used it to take out my face make up. I mean, if something is gentle enough for your eyes, it should be good for you face too. It takes out your foundation etc well. But you do need to wash your face before you are completely satisfied.
The amount that is 250 ml lasted me for a couple of months. I think this is fair enough. The body shop often has sales and you can get this for lesser price as well. I am almost over with this bottle and I may repurchase it, well I am not sure. I recently have been using my maybelline one which I like so much better.
So lets sum up.
1. Decent packaging though I would have loved a pump dispenser, but lets not be complaining 😛
2. Removes non water proof eye make up effectively
3. Will suit sensitive skin types very well
4. Good quantity for the price
5. Is gentle, doesn’t burn or irritate my eye area
6. Free of harsh chemicals and not tested on animals.
1. Not suitable for removing waterproof make up
2. May need two-three attempts if you’re wearing heavy eye make up
I would recommend this to you if you have sensitive skin.
