In Detail Nykaa BlendMaster All rounder Makeup Blender Sponge Review, Demo and My experience

Nykaa has become sort of the online sephora of India. Their in home brand has become popular in the recent times. Since beauty sponges are something in always in lookout for I immediately bought their blendmaster sponge when they lauched it.

It has some great reviews on their sponge and it was present in various colours like pink, green, purple, yellow etc.

The packing is a standard plastic container. Nothing much to say about it. I feel it isn’t the best packing as you cannot store your sponge im it unlike the beauty blender which has holes in it as well to keep the sponge airy.

Coming onto the quality of this sponge. When I first opened up the package, I was immediately disappointed. The sponge was too firm for me. It was incredibly hard. Probably the hardest sponge I’ve ever felt in my hands. But still I wanted to give it a fair chance since sometimes all a sponge requires is to soak it wet.

When I soaked it wet, it did grow a bit but nothing substantial. It might have grown a few millimetres but really you can’t even see a difference. Even after soaking it you cannot feel it getting any softer. It was just as hard as it was before.

It is very firm in my unbiased opinion. I’ve used many sponges and this by far was worst of them all. It was hard and didn’t feel great in hand. When you press it, it will take all your strength of squeen the sponge. Hard is an understatement it was just rock solid. This isn’t how sponges are suppose to be made. I was very disappointed on my ₹500 spent in this sponge.

Nykaa replicated the shape and colour of the Beauty Blender but forgot about the actual quality of the product. It is no where near the actual Beauty Blender.

It is just pathetic out right. I wonder if it was me who got a bad piece so I ordered another one but it was equally as bad. I ordered the purple colour and it was even more harder.

When I applied my foundation with it, it gave me another reason not to like it. I didn’t like the sponge because of the following reasons:

1- It felt like a stone is hitting my face

2- It soaked up more product than required. It sucked up more than half of the foundation and I was left with bearly anything. The firmness doesn’t give you enough room to work with as no one would like to use such a product on their face.

Both these reasons give such a setback to the nykaa blendmaster sponge from my side that I’d not recommend it to anyone no matter the price point.

Despite the set backs I wanted to make it work. So I started wetting and drying it so that maybe eventually it will get softer. But no, this thing just doesn’t budge at all.

Later I just started using it for my cream highlighters and I applied and blended them with it and it even soaked up the cream. I want to use them but somehow they just end up not working.

It is available in various colours and one more shape as well. As said before I tired the purple one and it was even worse than the pink one. It didn’t even grow when I soaked it in water.

Overall I don’t like this product at all. No matter the price the quality just isn’t something worth spending your bucks on. Don’t be fooled by other people it’s really not worth the money. One has plenty of better options than this at such a price point.
