How to Use ColourPop Midnight Super Shock Eye Shadow
For maximum coverage use the fingertip to tap shadow on the eyelid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line. Using a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip the tip of the brush into the shadow and apply with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow appear soft and diffused like a total pro! When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazing.
Price of ColourPop Midnight Super Shock Eye Shadow
$ 5.00 for 0.07 oz which is around 2.1 grams. Like I have mentioned before and probably all of you guys know it already, Colourpop is an online exclusive brand. Hence its products can only be purchased at its official website. I purchase all my products from the colourpop website.
In Detail ColourPop Midnight Super Shock Eye Shadow Review, Swatches and My Experience
Colourpop packaging is one of the most unique eyeshadow packaging ever. Like its this cute small white tub with a see through top. The top has “ColourPop” written in holographic letters. I think they nailed it with the packaging. Although they take up some space in storage, I love looking at it.
The texture of the colourpop super shock eyeshadows is like silk mousse. I mean its soft and buttery. It feels like a hybrid between powder and mousse. When you press the eyeshadow, it gets pressed beneath the pressure of your finger because of its powder-mousse consistency. This basically is the most unique formula ever.
Midnight I would say is a warm olive-black eyeshadow with tons of glitter in it. It has so much fine golden glitter that the black actually looks washed out. The particular shade has a rather semi opaque coverage. The rest of the 3 shades in the Kathleen Lights quad “where the night is” i.e. Porter, Weenie, Telepathy had pretty much full opaque coverage.
Because its so jam packed with glitter, there was some glitter fall out while applying. However the formula blended well without being patchy. The shadow did not crease or fade and looked fresh on the lids for 9+ hours. After 9 hours, I did see some fading especially from the inner and outer corners of the eyelids.
Midnight is a perfect Night out shade according to me. Just pop it all over the eyelids and you’re good to rock the party. Of course, the glitter keeps sparkling throughout its wear time which I find is totally amazing. Once the eyeshadow is set on the eyelids, the glitter does not move around on its own much unless you rub your eyes. If you’re a fan of glitter packed smokey eyes, you need Colourpop’s midnight in your life.
Colourpop Midnight Dupe?
Well Midnight is a dupe to quite a lot of shadows. I have to say though that colourpop’s is the most affordable one with a very lovely formula. MAC Veluxe Pearlfusion eyeshadow Greenluxe is almost exactly similar to this. NARS Hardwired eyeshadow Gabon is again a super close match. Makeup Forever eyeshadow in the shade 1328 bronze is again very similar but the MUFE one has more intense pigmentation and less glitter. Inglot eyeshadow #419 is a very close match as well.
Do I need to mention again how much I am in love with the kathleen lights quad? 😛 If you’re going to be partying, this quad is all you need. Midnight in particular is a shade for all the ladies who love their glitters and sparkles.

CONs of ColourPop Midnight Super Shock Eye Shadow
1. I did notice minimal glitter fall out with this shade because it is jammed with glitter.
2. Colourpop is not easily available except in USA.
1. Do not try to depot colourpop super shock eyeshadows since they tend to dry out or become crumbly if left in the open. Therefore, always tighten the lid after use.
2. Use your finger to tap the eyeshadow on the eyelids gently to get a good colour pay off without losing any glitter goodness.
3. Prime your eyes well to get maximum shade output.
4. Please be careful while taking this off and be gentle because we don’t want glitter to go in our eyes.
