ColourPop Take Me Home Shadow Palette Review, Swatches: Hey guys, we’re already in April. This year seems to be going by faster that expected. So today I am going to talk about a product that I have had in my bag for quite a while now. Colourpop Take me Home Pressed powder Eye Shadow palette was released around the holidays as a limited edition item.

I thought of not talking about it on the blog because it had been so long. But, I thought why not. Specially because I love colourpop products and this palette is still being sold at third party resellers.

In Detail ColourPop Take Me Home Shadow Palette Review, Swatches and My Experience

The colourpop Take Me Home palette – a limited edition eyeshadow palette still available at third party resellers. Colourpop pressed powder shadows have always impressed me and I feel like grabbing everything they come out with.

This palette has a really pretty packaging. It has 6 eyeshadows. Also, a nice mirror. The packaging is minimalistic as well as travel friendly.

The palette has 6 eyeshadow shades. Mostly shades of peach & brown and one metallic gold. All these shades are very wearable on a daily basis. Specially if you’re someone who likes to wear soft browns, you will probably really like this palette. There is no shade which is too out of the box in this palette.

$12.00 for 6 eyeshadows seems like a fair deal to me. Let me go through each shade individually.

Issues – A medium peach shade with warm orange undertones. This shade felt a little loosely packed due to which it came out somewhat powdery. However while doing my makeup, I went with a light hand and slowly built it up. It worked pretty well. It is nice and buildable as well.

Side Tracked – a medium orange brown with warm undertones. It has sparsely dispersed gold shimmers in it which make it a stand out in the palette. So you basically have this matte orange brown with a hint of spread out gold shimmers. The texture is really smooth and pigmentation is good.

French Kiss – a deep matte brown with warm burgundy undertones. This shade applies a little patchy when I use my fingers. However with a shadow brush, it works slightly better. Make sure to go light handed at first because this is very pigmented. It blends easily.

Salt Water – A frosty light-medium orange-peach shade. The texture is smooth and it applies well with finger tips. It blends out easily and is buildable wth some effort.

Popular Demand – This is the burnt sienna brown of the palette. It is deep>medium brown with strong warm undertones. I have all good things to say about this shade expect its texture which was a little too powdery. So make sure to go light handed initially and keep blending as you build it up.

Bitter Better – A pale metallic medium gold which has more champagne undertones rather than yellow. It is best applied with fingertips. It has good texture with a nice yet buildable pigmentation.

So most of the shades look amazing. However I cannot ignore the obvious inconsistencies as far as the formula is concerned. One shade like the french kiss went on really patchy with fingers. Some apply better with a brush. Although all the shades have a good wear time of approximately 6-7 hours, I still think this is not one of the best of colourpop.

My favourite shades have to be Side tracked and bitter better. Although I do use almost all shades from this palette. Because the palette is super compact and light weight with a careful selection of everyday wear shades, this sits in my purse.

If you are into browns with an occasional pop of mild shimmers or metallic gold, you will find this palette amazing. Not the best from colourpop but definitely a steal at this price. When I say not the best, I don’t mean its not nice. It is quite lovely, however faithful colourpop customers like me are used to more perfection in CP palettes which I did not see in this one.
