Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Pink Review: Hello Busy beauties! From couple of months, I have been quite busy with doing nothing ( Thanks to Lockdown 😊). So, experimenting with new products has become my hobby now-a-days as I stick to only very few products every time fearing about the side effects. But now, finally I have come out of Comfort zone and giving all the products a try.

Most of my friends have been suggesting me to try different types of Highlighters as they are great to define your face and a great way to look chic in pictures.

So, while I was scrolling though Nykaa to find the best highlighters, found MAC Strobing cream and the Maybelline strobing stick. And I went ahead and purchased the latter keeping in view of the packaging and the price. As I have a fair Indian skin tone, I prefer choosing pink shade for Lips /Blush /Highlighters. Hence I picked Maybelline New York Face Studio Strobing Stick in the shade Pink (The other option in this Range is “Nude” ).

In Detail Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Pink Review and My Experience

The meaning of the word “Strobe” is flash. Any product that contains the name Strobe has illuminating properties. This Strobing stick comes in a black plastic case with transparent lid at the top but the cap is pretty loose and high chances that the cap will be opened even if falls from a very short height.

I prefer Bullet sticks rather than the liquid cream as this is very hygienic to use and no wastage of product. Just Glide it on cheeks and you are ready to go. So, a thumbs up for this.

There are only 2 shades available in this range: Nude and Pink. Nude shade is recommended for medium to deep skin tone and Pink is recommended for fair to light medium skin tone.

I have been using Makeup Revolution highlighter palette from couple of years and that was a BOMB. But, just for a change, I was looking for an alternative for that ( As said above, lockdown is meant for experiments 😊).

My experience with this strobing stick is very neutral. One stroke will be sufficient if you are wearing a casual office makeup. And for the heavy side makeup like marriages/functions , you need to glide 2-3 times to get the glittery look.

Once it is blended properly, it gives a very natural velvety finish which my combination skin loves. Make sure you do not glide too many times as it may leave white patches on the skin ( especially the pink shade because it has white undertones ).

Besides using it mostly on top of cheekbones, I prefer to use it for eyelid corners, nose, under the lips and sometimes under the foundation as well (This is preferable for dry skin girls as the results are quite amazing and the skin looks naturally healthy and dewy).

Staying Power: Coming to Staying power, it’s not so great. It hardly lasts for 4-5 hours and after that, it leaves only shimmers on the skin which I absolutely hate. So, make sure you apply a primer before makeup or you touch up for every 5 hours before it leaves those glitters all around.

Fragnance: There is zero fragrance for this product but if you try to smell it too deep, then you feel the sense of chocolate smell.

Availability and duration: I consider it as slightly inexpensive as it lasts for 6-7 months easily if you apply on regular basis and lasts till the expiry date if you apply once or twice a week. And it is easily available in online in India (Nykaa and Maybelline).

Pros of Maybelline Master Strobing Stick

1. Travel friendly as it is bullet stick (excluding the fact that the cap is loose).
2. Looks so natural once its blended properly.
3. Can be used as eyeshadow as well.
4. Boon for dry skin people.
5. This product goes a long way.

Cons of Maybelline Master Strobing Stick

1. It leaves shimmers after 4-5 hours.
2. Can leave white patches if not blended properly (Pink shade)
3. Only 2 shades available.

If you are looking for a highlighter that makes you look subtle and natural, then this is the one for you. But, if you want a very sparkly finish for parties or any occasions, then a cream based highlighter would work for you.
