In Detail L.A. Colors 3D Blush Contour CBL804 Honey Bun Review, Swatches and My Experience

This was my first product from L.A Colors. It comes in a variety of options, the shade I have is called Honey Bun. These are available at authorised platforms only, which also eliminates the risk of duplicate products.

Somehow whenever I have looked up the products from this brand, I have always found some discount or the other going, it might be a coincidence but during sale season you can get this at a great price.

What attracted me the most was the compact packing, it a small palette with 2 round pans, out of which one is divided into 2. The thing that the blush is in a circular pan and the rest in semicircle is quite practical considering the usage and the applicators we use for the aforesaid products. It’s pretty much balanced in terms of quantity and shades. The product name is also engraved into the products which give a nice finish to it.

It’s a white plastic rectangular box with transparent top, the name and brand name written on top, rest of the details including the shade name is printed on the back. It doesn’t come with a mirror or applicator which is quite okay considering it’s a small compact palette. It’s a great travel option a well as very practical to keep in you purse with of course an applicator. it looks tightly and doesn’t open easily which makes it safe to travel with and keep in a bag as well.

All the products are very creamy and buttery. But there is a slight difference in the texture of all three.

The blush has shimmer particles making it a little less buttery compared to the two. But its supremely pigmented, I take very little product, dust off the excess and then apply. It still gives me coral peachy cheeks in very little product. It’s a shiny kind so I don’t bring it too much to the centre of the face.

The softest among the three is the contour, it so very smooth that it almost feels like a cream product, it’s very pigmented, it’s warm toned but not a harsh brown it’s a light orange toned brown. Very pigmented and natural
The highlighter shade is very soft not as soft as the contour but quite smooth. I love the texture of this but it is more of a transition shade for me not a highlighter, it has no shimmer particles neither does it give any sort of glow particles or anything. Its very very subtle sheen kind of glow which is extremely natural. It looks like it has something when you see the pan but when you apply it, its barely there.

All the shades are very pigmented and blends very easily, with a very light hand you can apply and blend the products. I’ve never worked too hard to blend the product that its stretching and torturing my skin. It light weight Very comfortable on the skin.

I also use these shades for eye makeup, highlighter as transition shade, contour to create the outer v and blush for the centre of the lids. it creates a nice day time look.

They stay for a long time but its easy to remove at the same time. Use any makeup remover and gently wipe it off. It won’t tug or irritate the skin even a little bit.

MBF Advises

  1. Experiment with it, don’t be stuck to using it as only a face palette.
  2. Use very little product, even if you have taken the tiniest amount of product do dust off the excess and built it up as required. Don’t be in a hurry and take a bit and try to achieve the look in one go.
  3. Since the blush has shimmer particles, don’t apply too much at the centre of the face, don’t bring the product inwards but keep sweep it across your cheeks towards the hairline.
