How to Use Smashbox Bold Glitter Cover Shot Eye Palette

1. Choose base color and blend onto lids. 
2. Play with mix-and-match shades and layer to create your own cover look.
3. Studio Tip: Use a light, pearlized shadow as a highlighter or mix shadow with 24 Hour Eyeshadow Primer (sold separately) for a long-wearing lid tint.

In Detail Smashbox Bold Glitter Cover Shot Eye Palette Review, Swatches and My Experience

So starting with the packaging, it comes in a cardboard box packaging which has all the necessary details written behind the box. When you open it there is a cute little travel size eyeshadow palette. The palette also has an in-built mirror hence it’s easy to travel with. The only downside is that it does not comes with any brush. I wish that they provided a brush with it.

Coming on to the shades they have variety of shade options in their cover shot range but they have only one glitter palette. I guess this is a limited edition palette. There are 8 different glitter shades in the palette. All the shades in this palette are glitters. There is no matte shade in the palette which can be a downside for some. But may be it’s not really a downside because you can use other matte eye palettes with matte shades. This one exclusively has glitter shades.

All the shades have a name assigned which is great. Coming on to the texture some shades are like butter in texture whereas some are not that great in texture. So overall they vary a bit in texture. The shades blue (Seapunked) and green (New Money) are not as smooth as the other shades in the palette. All the shades that you see in the palette are loose glitters in the pressed form so they’re easy to use and at the same time, we get the boldness of loose glitters.

Coming on to the application you can use this product with an eyeshadow primer or a glitter glue beneath. However I prefer using it wet so that all the glitters stick and don’t move. You can go ahead and use a good glitter base, it might actually be better.

I love this palette because I love glitters, and in this palette you get a variety of shades to work with. Whereas if you see in other brands, there are mostly gold shades. Therefore, it’s hard to find shades like purple and green glitters.

Coming on to the longevity, it stays for a very long time. I have used it for around 12 hours when it stayed intact. I use a wet brush and stick this glitter on my eyes and it doesn’t move at all. Basically a big yay from my side.

The pro tip that I would like to give you all is if you are planning to buy this palette or you already have this palette do your eye makeup first and then do your face base. So in case if there is any fall out your base doesn’t gets affected by it.

Cons of Smashbox Bold Glitter Cover Shot Eye Palette

1) Less Quantity provided ( the other cover shot palette has 6.5 grams of product for the same price whereas this one has less quantity )
2) 2 shades are not that pigmented but not very unmanageable.
3) Costly.

Do I Recommend Smashbox Bold Glitter Cover Shot Eye Palette?

A big yes. I love this eyeshadow palette. If you are a beginner, you may try it. But if you are a makeup artist or someone who loves glitters then a big yes.

1) Do your eye shadow application first and then do the face base because in case if there is any fallout, your base won’t get affected by it.
2) Use a glitter glue, glitter base or an eyeshadow primer so that the glitter sticks properly.
3) You can also use a wet brush to stick the eyeshadow.
4) You can wear the individual glitter shades all the eyelid as well.
