In Detail All Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color Lipsticks 8 Shades Review, Swatches

The lipsticks come in a cylindrical acrylic tube packaging with a rather small doe foot applicator. The problem with such small applicators is, you have to dip in multiple times into the formula as you are applying the lipstick. Otherwise its a pretty average yet nice packaging, nothing out of the box here.

Texture, Pigmentation, Coverage

The Lakme liquid lipsticks have a comfortable feel on the lips. They do not dry out the lips which is a great plus point. The texture is nice, not too thick. Pigmentation is average, not a lipstick which would give you 100% opaqueness in a single swipe. You do have to work it a little and build the coverage by swiping it on a few times. Specially if you have slightly pigmented lips, you definitely need to build it on.

Trasferability

The Lakme liuid lipsticks do take a while to dry down. On an average I’d say approximately 5 to 7 minutes. After they dry down properly, they do not transfer much. However if you do happen to munch on something, they do come off a little bit specially from the inner lips. So better not wear this on a dinner date we’d suggest. 😀

Staying Power

The staying power of these liquid lipsticks is average. They stay on nicely for upto 4 hours after which they start fading. They may turn patchy if your lips are dry. So staying power wise they are not a superstar, they are pretty average.

Overall Verdict

We absolutely love the shade range. All these shades can be carried out comfortable by most Indian skin tones. None of the shades will wash out an average Indian skin tone beauty. Although 8 shades sounds less, we are pretty positive that Lakme might add more shades to their existing range of liquid lipsticks.

1. Not very long lasting.
2. Not as opaque and pigmented in this competitive world of liquid lipsticks.
3. Limited shade range.
4. May be a little overpriced.

1. Do exfoliate the lips nicely before applying a MLL (Matte liquid lipstick). You can make a quick DIY lip scrub as shown here.
2. Although these are non drying, we’d still suggest applying a light lip moisturiser underneath to make your pouts look plump and cheery.
