Its the new White Barn Candle from Bath & Body Works – Leather and Brandy.

So to be honest, by just the name, this didn’t really sound super exciting. But I really wanted some new candles, so I ordered a few. To my surprise, this could actually be my new favourite. So let’s talk more about it here

How to Use Bath & Body Works Leather & Brandy 3 Wick Candle

Always trim wick to 1/4 inch before lighting and keep debris out of wax pool. Never burn longer than 4-hour intervals. Set candle on heat-resistant surface and avoid drafts. Always burn within sight and extinguish before leaving room. Don’t burn near things that catch fire. Keep away from children and pets. Don’t extinguish with water. Always let wax harden before relighting, touching or moving.

In Detail Bath & Body Works Leather & Brandy 3 Wick Candle Review and My Experience

The Bath & Body Works Leather & Brandy candle comes in a beautiful matte black glass jar packaging. The off white coloured lid has “white barn” engraved on it. The label looks so sophisticated with the minimalistic approach. It would just look amazing with all kinds of room decor. I usually have a white/beige-golden theme in my living area, and this just looks perfect on my side table. Even in a different setting like my living room, this looks elegant.

Now, I read all the reviews posted on Bath & Body Works’s official website recently. I found that a lot of people said this candle doesn’t have a good throw. Well I’d like to disagree. The thing is, it does have an amazing throw. But the smell isn’t intense. The smell itself is soft and sustained.

Because we are mostly used to slightly stronger smelling candles, some of us might assume its about the throw. But the fact is, its not about the throw, its about the intensity of the scent of the candle itself. Basically, its the intensity of the scent which is mild, the throw technically is quite good.

What does Bath & Body Works Leather & Brandy Smells Like?

Bath and Body Works describes the scent vibe as “sinking into a recliner with the fireplace in front of you and a nightcap in hand.” with the fragrance notes being “warm leather, amber woods and aged brandy“. I feel like its definitely a warm scent. Its got the whole amber wood as the mainstream note. You do notice the leathery smell (in a good way) and it very well balances the slight sweetness coming in through the aged brandy (Brandy that’s more than two years old is called “aged” brandy).

The scent description would be incomplete if I do not compare the scent of Leather & Brandy Vs Bath & Body Works Mahagony & Teakwood. For starters, this one leans on a little to the sweeter side as compared to Mahagony Teakwood. Also the leather does shine through in Leather & Brandy. Whereas in Mahagony & Teakwood, its the teakwood that makes its presence more noticeable.

Both of them are very captivating scents that I feel would be loved by almost everyone who smells them. The only difference being its the leather thats dominant with slight sweetness from the brandy in a background of woods in Leather & Brandy by Bath & Body Works. On the other hand, with Bath & Body works you get the deep and exotic (slightly spicy) notes from the mahagony and the bold woodiness from the teakwood.

Basically both the candles are super alluring. There are 121% chances that if you like one of them, you’d probably like the other as well. They are not exclusively masculine scents. I find them working for everyone irrespective of boundaries.

Mahagony & Teakwood by Bath & Body Works is often counted amongst the greatest scents by Bath & Body Works, and honestly I feel like Leather & Brandy deserves a place in that list too.

Apart from the scent, I find the performance was quite amazing as well. It burns evenly. I fills in my living room/hall area within like 10 minutes. But remember, the smell has a more mild-lingering-on nature, so if you’re interrupted by smells of other things around you, you may not appreciate it that much. Even after putting off the candle, the smell does stay around for a while. When burnt inside a room, the scent does get more pronounced (because it gets concentrated?)

Bath & Body Works actually has a whole entire line of products under the “Leather & Brandy” scent. They even have a men’s cologne and a body wash with this scent.

Overall, I feel like this is one of my best finds this holiday season. I will burn this through winter season and hope my guests will enjoy this as much as I do.

1. I would suggest getting a candle lighter and wick trimmer, they will make your life is so much easier if you’re really into candles.
2. Compare across 2-3 different online retailers, you can score great deals on these candles.
3. Always make sure you light the candle at a place where kids cannot reach them (I am specially mentioning this because my 2 little sweethearts love everything I love, so its natural for kids to try to explore different things, so we just need to be a little careful.)
