How to Get Glowing Skin at Home – Skin Brightening / Lightening Face Mask DIY
Hi everyone, I am going to show you guys a DIY today. Its sunday and those of you who are at home can pamper yourselves with this amazing DIY.
You are going to need
1. A fresh Pomegranate
(You can also use a Pomegranate juice but make sure its a 100%, moreover I find that pomegranate juice makes the face mask more runny. So I like to go ahead with a fresh pomegranate)
2. Honey
Pomegranate for Skin
Pomegranate are jam packed with antioxidants. It works on the free radicals on the skin and neutralises them. Free radials cause premature ageing and pomegranate fights against them. Pomegranate also has Ellagic Acid which helps fight against wrinkles. It works great on acne prone skin. It is amazing for skin rejuvination because it is full of Vitamins like vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E. It is also rich in a micronutrient called zinc which has anti inflammatory and soothing properties. Zinc is also a sun protection agent. Zinc is also said to be helpful for reducing acne. Zinc supplementation has been shown to significantly increase the level of vitamin A in the blood, indicating an interaction between the two nutrients that may explain its positive effect on acne. It unclogs your pores and decreases breakouts.
Because of all these amazing properties, pomegranate is really good for your skin because it helps speed up the cell renewal process and makes your skin really glowy.
Honey for Skin
Honey has innumerable benefits for skin. Best honey to use will be manuka honey which is basically a form of raw honey and has amazing effect on skin. It is a 100% pure form of honey and because of that, it is not easily available. I am going to use our normal honey. Honey has anti bacterial, anti oxidant and anti inflammatory properties. It repairs damaged skin and makes your skin look super healthy and glowy
Method
So take out all the pomegranate seed from the whole fruit. You can do it directly or under the water. If you are doing it under water, make sure you don’t get the white stuff which is seen floating on the surface because we don’t want that in our face pack. Drain the water and we have our seeds ready. After draining the water, Put it into a blender.
Now add honey into the blender.
Blend those two together until they are nicely mixed. Now put this mixture into a container.
The best part is, you can store this mixture in the fridge for upto one month.
How to Use / Apply
Cleanse your face with a good face wash. Now take it on your palm and start working it on your facial skin. This might be a little tricky to apply initially because of its runny consistency but once you get the hang of it, it should not be very difficult. Use a light hand while applying because pomegranate seeds can be exfoliating.
I like to let it stay on for half an hour. I usually put it on half an hour before shower and wash it off in the shower. While washing your face, you wanna make sure that you use circular motions because this mask is also going to work great as a face exfoliant.
After we are done washing, I apply my toner followed by the moisturiser and I am good to go 🙂
If you like the DIY, share it with your friends and comment below. Also tell me if you have an ingredient that you feel I should add into this. 🙂

i tried it and it made my so soft and glowy
Hello Astha, I just came across this article on your facebook page. I had a pomegranate at home that day so I tried this mask. I honestly cannot thank you enough. My skin feels so soft smooth and there was a very noticeable glow on my skin. Since then, I have started using it every week and my skin has never felt better. Even some of my dark spots are fading. I have started using this for my daughter also because she has dry skin and it removes sun tan from her skin which she gets in school playground. I love you for such a nice diy, please do more diys. I have seen you on instagram and your skin looks so perfect.
