In fact, my mum is a forever fan of pure almond oil. I have a few cult favourite ones when it comes to 100% pure almond oil. Still I keep trying out new brands as I love exploring. Kama Ayurveda is a well known organic brand in the Indian beauty industry. They have this 100% organic sweet almond oil, and I picked it up in their store at Jaipur’s MI road. Let me give you all the details about how it works and effects in detail below.

How to Use Kama Ayurveda Organic Sweet Almond Oil

1. Warm a small amount in the hands and massage gently all over the face/body. Leave for 30 minutes, cleanse post treatment with a mild soap or body cleanser.
2. For hair, simple apply to scalp and gently massage hair from root to tip. Leave for 20 minutes, cleanse post treatment with a mild hair cleanser and warm water. Can be used from head to toe, by all skin and hair types.

In Detail Kama Ayurveda Organic Sweet Almond Oil Review, Swatches and My Experience

The oil comes in an amber coloured plastic bottle with a screw open top. There is a stopper as well. I actually made a hole in the stopper so that the oil flows slowly through it. I wouldn’t want to waste it because obviously almond oil is costly. Another thing I really like about Kama Ayurveda is their simplistic packaging with all the information.

The oil is almost transparent (slightly yellow) in colour. The consistency is slightly thinner than other almond oils that I have used. It smells nice (because I like almond oil smell 😀 ). The smell isn’t strong though. Its subtle. You would only notice it for a while if you have a sensitive nose.

How I Use it

I use it for me as well as my baby. On myself, I have used it for my hair as well as skin. I apply it as an overnight conditioning treatment for my hair. On my skin, I love getting oil massages with this. Also, love using this on my skin sometimes instead of a moisturiser. And yes, I use this on my face too. It never breaks me out. For my baby, I use the Kama Ayurveda Lakshadi Thailam for her evening massage. I use almond oil for her morning massage. These days I have been using this almond oil by Kama Ayurveda.

Effects

On my Hair – When I wash my hair after having this on overnight, my hair feels really nice. It feels smoother and healthier. The oil conditions my hair really well. In fact, I have always noticed that almond oil massages make my hair grow faster and stronger.

On my Skin – This oil conditions my skin amazingly. My skin feels hydrated and soft. This does not make my skin feel greasy at all. But make sure you use this in adequate quantity. Do not use a lot of it or else this might give an oily feeling. On my face, I usually use it when my skin feels very dry.

On my Baby – Kama almond oil helps her skin stay soft and hydrated all day long. Because its really hot these days (45 degrees today), my baby usually stays in an air conditioner environment. This oil helps her skin stay hydrated and not feel dry at all. Also, I have heard that almond oil is great for her hair. So yes, also use it on her hair and it conditions her hair really well. I use this on her face too, and it really makes her skin soft and supple.

Overall Verdict

I feel the almond oil by Kama Ayurveda is great. It does everything which 100% pure almond oil does for me. The added advantage is, it feels even less oily. If you haven’t tried almond oil before, try this one, its really nice. I have always had great results with pure almond oil and I am pretty sure this would be helpful for a lot of beauties. However, please make sure to do a patch test before using any new oil for the first time. I had good results with this on my skin as well as hair. Also, I love this for my baby.

1. Hair and body massages with almond oil does wonders. Try it.
2. Do a patch test before trying it for the first time.
3. Make sure to pour it carefully if you remove the stopper. I make a hole in such stoppers to achieve controlled flow. You can try doing the same or you can pour it in some other bottle with controlled flow mechanism. Nobody would want to waste such costly oil
