Kama Ayurveda Natural Sun Protection Sunscreen SPF 21/PA++ Review: Hello all, I read this few years ago “If you foolishly ignore beauty, then you will soon find yourself without it” and I must admit that it did leave an impact on me. I was a carefree person and felt that it was a burden to apply moisturizer too. I used to feel that the body takes care of itself and I thought it was natural. But I did notice a huge improvement in texture and type once I started taking care of my skin be it using the kitchen ingredients or on the rack products sold in the market. I am glad that I did it.
In addition, slowly with time, I learnt that with different environments, climatic conditions the treatment has to be different and there is no one formula, which applies to all. Though it did take effort initially but slowly it became a part of me and I dint feel it as a burden at all.
Sunscreen was one such thing, though initially I used to struggle to remember using one now it is a mandate for me whether I am outside or at home and whichever season it may be. My all-time favorite has been Lotus Herbals 3 in 1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock SPF 40. Till date, there is no substitute for it.
I picked up the Kama Ayurveda Natural Sun Protection cream early last month due to sheer recommendation of the sales staff there who convinced me that it’s safe to be used on small children as well as it 99% natural. Since I use lot of Kama Ayurveda products I decided to give this one a try as well and here goes my review on my experience with it.

In Detail Kama Ayurveda Natural Sun Protection Sunscreen SPF 21/PA++ Review and My Experience
As the scorching sun rose, the need for a good sunscreen became a mandate in every one’s life. All this while my everyday skin care routine had been cleanse, tone, moisturize and applying sunscreen in the mornings. While Lotus sunscreen gets all my love because of it’s even out and mattifying effect, the quest for trying new sunscreen arose when the sales staff convinced me with the ingredients being natural and the high customer satisfaction gained by the product from customers.
The Kama Ayurveda Natural sunscreen came in a bright glossy orange colored tube type packaging with a flip cap.
While the packaging is decent for everyday use and travel, the pricing according to the quantity feels expensive.
Kama Ayurveda Natural sunscreen is an off-white colored cream, which has a strong fragrance of lime and ginger in it. I have smelt this kind of fragrance in many floor cleaners and phenyls especially. It lasts for some time until the senses get adaptive of the fragrance post, which it does not bother much.
The cream is quite thick due the present of shea butter in it. The cream can be directly applied post a toner due the presence of shea butter and hence the moisturizer or day cream can be avoided especially during summers. The cream does give a bit of heaviness on the face.
In addition, since it is thick it takes some time to spread and one needs to dot it evenly on the face and then spread evenly to avoid any kind of layering. The skin does leave a whitish cast due to the presence of Zinc oxide in it. Though it does come down after a while but the effect is prominent and one can easily make out that the sunscreen has been applied.
I have a fair complexion still the whitish cast is prominent on my complexion. Zinc oxide is known to protect the skin against harmful UV rays by forming a shield and preventing the harmful rays from entering the skin. Nutmeg, lime and ginger have anti-inflammatory properties for protecting the skin and keeping it in good condition.
The cream is however suitable for all skin types even for sensitive skins. Even during the days when I have an acne or a pimple, the cream does not cause any form of irritation on application.
After about 5 minutes of application, my face sweats and I can feel the same very clearly. However, I use a soft tissue to dab dry the same and my skin is fine after that. But, I have experienced this every time I apply the cream. I do apply it on my neck as well. I however have not tried re applying it every two hours as I am mostly inside.
I found the sunscreen to be quite decent but a bit heavy for summers. For a recent travel for 2-3 days I tried to pump out a small quantity into a small tub, I noticed that the same started to harden up after being exposed and I was not able to use it that way and hence started carrying the tube everywhere I went.
Overall it is a decent cream but it did not hit my favourite list though. Have you tried this sunscreen? How was your experience using it please do share.
