A lot of us have dived into the hype and came out of it already, but speaking of Indian beauty brands, a lot of them are still feeling the waters. For me, a sheet mask or a serum mask is a tissue sheet richly soaked in a hydrating solution. Honestly, after a while, I feel like most of them work pretty much the same.

And can you get the same effects without a sheet? My answer would be yes. Just put a good hydrating serum or moisturiser liberally on your freshly cleansed facial skin and wipe it off lightly with a cloth. Most of the sheet masks give literally the same effects. However, some are definitely better than others and I am yet to find something extraordinarily amazing.

I use it just like a regular sheet mask, there are instructions given on the package as well as you can see in the photos below. You can amp up the experience a little bit, I will explain how below in the experience and advises section.

In Detail Lakme Blush & Glow Strawberry Sheet Mask Review and My Experience

The Lakme strawberry sheet mask comes packed in a red coloured packet with all the information on it including a list for the ingredients (yay!). It has a price tag of INR 100 but I got it for free with a random Myntra purchase.

To be honest, I wouldn’t have bought a sheet mask anyways by paying a full price because these days even the best sheet masks are available at great discounts specially because Indian online retailers not only put deals on Indian festivals, they do not lose an opportunity to put out good deals at foreign/international events like Halloween, Thanks Giving, Labour Day, Black Friday etc etc. So counting the Indian + other holidays, there are offers pretty much every month and as far as I have noticed, the deals are pretty much the same on individual products.

Anyways so speaking of this particular mask. One does not need a pair of scissors to open up the packet, you can just tear it off from the top, so +1 for travel friendliness. Inside, the mask is richly soaked in the serum. It smells slightly fruity but not over the top.

Once opened, I carefully unfolded the mask and put it on my cleansed face. I let the mask stay on for 15 minutes approx till it just starts to get a little dry. I do not wait for the mask to dry up completely.

After I remove it, I notice it definitely has a great moisturising effect on the skin. I pat and gently massage the remaining serum. It leaves my skin feeling really soft and plump. It creates a good canvas so I can apply makeup on top. Remember, makeup looks the best on moisturised, well hydrated skin.

So do the effects last long? Anything out of the box? Well no. The effects only last till the next time you wash your face with a face wash. It works pretty much just like any other normal sheet mask out there in the market. The only different thing that you’ll notice is the smell which is quite nice actually.

Another important advise I’d like to give you is, while using it in winters, make sure you’re sitting in a warm room. Because as liquid evaporates from a surface or skin in this case, there is a cooling effect on the skin. So when using it in winters, be careful you don’t catch a cold. In summers, these are just perfect. In fact during summers, I always keep my sheet masks in refrigerator before using.

To sum up things, these are pretty decent sheet masks by Lakme. They have a good moisturising effect on the skin and can be wonderful when used just before makeup. But I suggest buying them when they’re on offer.

2. You can actually use a jade (or any other stone) roller on top. The massage feels pretty good.
3. Don’t let the sheet mask dry completely on the face. It might soak off moisture from the skin instead of hydrating it as much as it can.
