So a while back, I posted on my instagram about this face mask by Mcaffeine. Today, I am here to talk more in depth about this product and how it fared on my skin.

Chocolate is yummilicous yes! But besides it is also an amazing skin care ingredient. It has a lot of beneficial effects on our skin. I am quite happy that Indian brands are coming up with products which feature natural ingredients. Let’s talk more about this product below.

How to Use MCaffeine Naked & Rich Choco Face Mask

Clean your face with a mild face wash. Apply a generous amount of the mask with the spatula. Spread it into an even layer. Avoid the area around the eyes, brows and the lips. Leave the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

In Detail MCaffeine Naked & Rich Choco Face Mask Review and My Experience

The mCaffeine Choco face mask comes in a rather heavy glass jar with a screw lid on top. The outer carton box as well as the labels on the jar have almost every information mentioned. I love the fact that they care to include a spatula. Its a wooden spatula.

Glass packaging has its pros and cons. On the bright side, its eco-friendly. (Although the lids are still made of plastic). However, glass is prone to breaking so this is not the best to travel with. So I’d suggest scooping out the needful amount in a travel friendly container if you wish to take this along while travelling.

As soon as you open up the lid, OMG it smells so delicious. You literally have to control the urge to taste it. It looks like some amazing tasty glistening molten chocolate syrup. And smells equally divine. It has a rather semi thick creamy consistency with a super smooth texture.

How I Use it

So I wash my face with my face wash. Then I use the spatula to scoop out the product and apply it evenly on my skin. Because of the lovely smooth texture, it is very easy to apply and spread on the skin. By the way, it keeps smelling heavenly all the while when its on the face.

Then after about 15-20 minutes, I wash it off with normal temperature water. It does not dry out completely in that time though.

Please know, that this is quite messy to wash off. It behaves like a clay mask when you’re taking it off although I see no clay based ingredient in the ingredients list (the ingredients’ list is incomplete, we will talk more about it below).

Effects

The first noticeable effect is how even my skin looks. Thats the magic of caffeine. You know what, I will actually take a picture and share on instagram next time I use this mask. This is not at all drying on the skin. In fact, I feel it actually moisturises my skin and gets rid of any dry patches. So this mask would be great for dry skin beauties.

Another thing you’ll notice is the brightening effect. Its really quite nice how this mask lifts up the skin tone and makes it look so much fresh, even and bright. It does remove the puffiness and tiredness from the skin. It is also helpful in taking away the dullness from the skin.

However, the sad part is, these effects are not very long lasting. The good effects of this mask stay for about a day and then the skin is back to normal. But on the positive side, I hope caffeine, cocoa and aloe are working as anti ageing and purifying ingredients for my skin.

Another thing about this mask which I am quite mad about is the lack of a complete ingredients’ list. I mean come on! When you have such super high claims and values attached to your brand, then why hide the complete list of ingredients. Basically, they have mentioned all active and natural ingredients. There is no mention of what kind of preservatives or fragrances they have used.

Overall Verdict

All in all, I feel this is a great face mask specially for dry skin beauties. I have combination skin and I sill really do like it. It just imparts so much life into the skin. Very good before you’re heading out for a party etc. However, the effects aren’t too long lasting. Also, I would have shown so much more love to it if they had mentioned the complete ingredients’ list.

MBF Advises

1. While taking out this one or any clay mask, I suggest using a soft face brush or a sponge. This creates less mess and makes the job get done quickly.
2. You don’t have to wait till it completely dries. I found that it works best if left on for around 15-20 minutes. Leaving it on for extra duration of time has no added advantage.
