I was on a hunt for glitter products when I came across this eyeliner from Urban Decay. I had heard quite a lot about these through Youtube beauty gurus. There are 13 stunning glitzy shades to choose from. The colour selections is beautiful from Funky purple, Light cotton candy blue, Light peach pink to silver as well as gold. To test it out I bought the shade called Midnight cowboy. This is a beige/gold, hence you can never go wrong with it.

Packaging

The glitter liner comes in a sturdy transparent plastic container. It has silver metal screw on cap with urban decay logo on top. The packaging looks beautiful as well as shows the true colour of the product inside. The applicator has a fine tip. It is a precise brush applicator like the ones that comes with liquid liners.

Midnight Cowboy

Midnight cowboy is this shimmering beige/gold. The product is super fine glitter in a transparent gel base which dries clear, leaving you with just shimmer. The gel is just the right consistency not too runny not too sticky. The glitter gel goes on smooth. Also, the glitter is fine so it won’t itch. The colour pay-off is very impressive, the glitter stands out and shimmers perfectly- shines bright like a diamond. Because of the clear gel base, the glitter is packed properly. No fall out whatsoever. The base takes a few seconds to dry. Once the liner dries, it won’t budge. The liner stays put through crazy dancing or sweaty night outs. In fact, stays on till you wipe it off.

Usage and Wearability

These are more forgiving to apply than regular liquid liner because the base is clear, even if you mess up its easier to get away with. Glitter products are usually messy, lot of fallouts, but not this one. The precise brush gives you the power to control the application, you can achieve perfect winged eyeliner with it or the stunning cut crease. This product makes it easy to work with glitter as it stays where you put it and gives you that jewel/metallic look.

The glitter is loosely packed, giving you a very sparse line of glitter if you use just one coat. The product is buildable if you are going for a defined glitter line, just wait for the first coat to dry. Even if you have to layer on coats and coats the tube has quite a lot of product to last you forever. Waiting the coat to dry is very important if you blink too quickly the product sets in the tiny creases on the lids.

Another tip that is mentioned on their site is to remove the black rubber top on the tube that controls how much product comes out on the brush. Once you take it out you will get more product on the brush, more the product more the glitter. You can use it as a liner or use it all over the lid. Its subtle yet glamorous and you don’t end up looking like a disco ball. The formula contains Peach and cucumber extract to condition the skin, carrot extract smooths and softens.

MBF Advises

1. Wait, Wait and Wait for the first coat to dry before you apply a second one. Otherwise it will be a mess. I personally messed up too many eye looks just because I didn’t wait long enough for the liner to dry. Hence, had to wipe off all the eye makeup and do it again!
2. Do a double winged liner and swipe the glitter between the two for a bold classy look.
3. Remove the black rubber wiper and use your finger to dab the product all over the lid for some hard-core sparkle.
4. Use small strokes to line the eye and keep going back for more product after each stroke.
