I really couldn’t wait to get my hands on these beautiful lipsticks. So I picked up four shades from this range. These lipstick are also said to be the dupe of the NYX soft matte lip cream. How to Use Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color

1. Swipe on the product – with the foam tip applicator evenly over your lips.
2. Apply a second coat of the weightless mousse, to deepen the shade and give your lips a powdery, matte look.
3. To add a soft blush to your cheeks, dot the mousse under your cheekbones in a half moon shape and use your fingertips to blend.

In Detail Lakme Burgundy Lush 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip Cheek Color Review, Swatches and My Experience

It comes in a pretty sleek rose gold cardboard packaging and there is a sleek lipgloss kind of tube which is actually a lipstick. The tube is of plastic hence it is easy to carry along with you. But the thing I dislike about this is that the packaging for all the shades is one and the same. Also, the plastic is not transparent. Hence you have to see the shade name at the bottom of the lipstick. The applicator of the lipstick is just perfect to fill the colour in your lips because of its shape.

Coming on to the shades, overall they have about 10 ten shades in this range. I am quite happy with the shade selection however I wish to see some more shades in this range.

I will be reviewing the shade burgundy lush. It’s a beautiful deep browny red shade. This shade will flatter from wheatish to darker complexions. The Lakme 9 to 5 Mousse lipstick definitely feels super soft as well as light on the lips. I don’t even feel that I have applied a lipstick, its that light weight! I love the fact that it is completely matte. Also, there is no presence of shimmer particles in it.

The lipstick is transfer proof hence I don’t need to worry about my lipstick fading or coming off. Therefore yay from my side for the formula and the finish. Now lakme also claims that this lipstick can be used on cheeks as blush. Well I believe that the lighter shades can be definitely used on the cheeks as a blush but the darker shades can’t be used on the cheeks. For example the shade that I am reviewing is a deep burgundy brown shade but if you use this shade on your cheeks it may be too deep. Hence I feel this shade can’t be used as a blush.

The texture of this is very smooth and buttery. It glides on very easily on the lips. The texture is very mousse like. In fact, it dries down in just a second. I am really impressed with the texture. Coming on to the last part of the review, this lipstick stayed on for good 6- 7 hours on my lips. Also, it did survived short snacks as well as drinks.

Lastly, how can I forget this question:

Whether Lakme 9 to 5 Mousse Matte Lipstick is a dupe of NYX soft matte lipcream?

No it’s not. The formula for both the lipsticks is very different from each other. Lakme 9 to 5 lip color has mousse texture whereas the soft matte lip cream has more of a creamy texture which settles into matte finish.

Definitely yes. I loved it to the bits, it’s one of the best comfortable formulas to wear.

1) If you have dry lips I would suggest you to use a lip balm underneath your lipstick.
2) To make this colour look glossy apply a lipgloss or a Vaseline on top of it.
3) To tone down a colour of you ur lip shade take a tissue paper and dab your lips on it.
4) To get rid of this lipstick use a coconut oil or a makeup remover wipes.
