In Detail Lotus Makeup Proedit Silk Touch Perfecting Foundation Review, Swatches and My Experience
Lotus Pro Edit Silk Touch Perfecting Foundation comes wrapped in a thin plastic which I hate. I also have lotus’s serum foundation which also does not come with an outer cardboard box. I think lotus should work on this.
The actual packaging comes in a frosted see through glass bottle. The bottle bears every important information regarding the foundation. It has its claims, price, shade name and number is printed at the bottom of the bottle. It has a pump dispenser.
I really like foundations which have a pump dispenser as it helps to control the amount we are dispensing and it does not leads to product wastage like squeezy foundation tubes do.
The pump is also protected with a sturdy plastic cap which closes tightly and can be carried around easily. Overall I like its packaging it is sturdy and looks luxurious to me.
The foundation comes in 6 shades and the shade which I picked is the last shade which is named as 06 Espresso. As I mentioned earlier I did not swatch it, and just randomly picked it. So the shade espresso is 2 shades darker than my complexion as you can see in the swatch picture.
Somehow the shade ranges of lotus is like colorbar. Their shades caters towards fair skin tones rather than deeper skin tones. The smell of the foundation is very floral as it has sakura extracts in it. Though the smell is not over powering at all and fades within seconds of application.
The texture of the foundation is semi thick. Neither too thick nor too liquid-y. It just has the perfect consistency how I like my foundations to be.
The foundation blends in really amazing and smoothly onto my skin. I like to take it at back of my hands, dot it everywhere on my face including neck and then I bounce my wet beauty blender. This way it gets blended really quickly and does not require a lot of time to get blended.
The finish this lotus pro edit foundation provides is dewy and it is not at all matte. For oily skin beauties it may not work, especially in summers – it made my skin extremely oily after 2 hours of application.
My dry skin beauties will love and enjoy using this foundation because it provides extreme dewy finish and is very hydrating.
The coverage it provides is medium to build-able. One layer of it gives me medium coverage. When layered, it does provide good amount of coverage without looking patchy or something.
The foundation feels quite heavy on my extremely oily skin and it does make me feel that I have applied something really heavy on my skin which I hate.
It stayed on my skin for good about 4 to 5 hours but my skin became oily after 2 hours of its application. However, once I set it with my maybelline fit me matte plus poreless translucent powder, it stayed more than 2 to 3 hours.
