In Detail The Body Shop Matte Clay Powder Review, Swatches and My Experience

The Body Shop powder comes wrapped in a thin polythene thats it. It does not comes with any outer cardboard box. The actual compact powder rests in a round sleek compact case which has a transparent lid with the body shop’s logo printed on it. Also there are some information printed on the back of the compact case.

There is no mirror or any sponge provided in the compact. The lid of the compact closes tightly and hence it can be carried in a handbag easily.

I really do not know how many shades of this compact is available in India. I have seen 5 shades in their store as well as on their official site.

I had chosen the shade Savannah Pecan for me and not moluccan nutmeg because I like my compact to be at least 1-2 shades lighter than my complexion. This shade will work on girls between nc 40 to 42 skin tone and if your skin tone is  nc45 and above than maluccan nutmeg is for you.

This shade matches my skin perfectly without looking grey or patchy. The powder is very finely milled. Inspite of being a full coverage powder it does not feels gritty or something of that sorts.

I love to apply it with my beauty blender under my eyes and also I swirl it all over my face with my colorbar kabuki brush.

Body shop claims that the powder is full coverage. But no its not. It actually has a sheer to buildable coverage. It only helps to even out my skin perfectly but does not hide marks or anything.

The compact powder is extremely mattifying – so perfect for me. I keep this in my handbag whenever I want to travel far and whenever I feel my face is getting oily and sweaty I dust this all over my face and my face feels fresh and lively again.

This compact shall look patchy and may accentuate dry patches on face for dry skinned beauties. The staying power of it is also good my face felt matte for a longer period of time. Also my nose area as well as forehead did not feel shiny.

MBF Advises

Use a sunscreen, BB cream and then apply a compact powder to achieve a daily goto makeup look. For dry skin, use a good moisturizer first. And then foundation suitable for dry skin. After this, set it with this compact powder to avoid patchiness.

Select a shade in person because in shade card shades is misleading.
