The Face Shop Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Toner Review: Hello everyone!!! Poets have often compared the face of their beloved to the moon – leading me to believe women have suffered from the problem of open pores. Why – you ask? Well, the moon has craters, and we women at some age or the other – or if we have oily skin – have the same – in the form of pores.

The Face Shop Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Toner Review

I have been on the subject of pollution-related ageing for a while now and during my research I spoke with a lot of experts who insisted on how toning is the one key part of a beauty regime that determines the size of your pores. Since I have a huge crater (open pores) issue on my face, I was suggested to use a medicated toner. So I picked up the The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Toner and let’s see how it fared.

In Detail The Face Shop Dr.Belmeur Daily Repair Toner Review, Swatches and My Experience

During the spring to summer or summer to monsoon transition, my skin always goes through a confused and unbalanced phase – there is a serious identity crisis going on there. Sometimes it is super dry and sometimes sticky and oily spots – so I need to be careful with what I use. I don’t like to over-hydrate my skin and have a breakout, but I can’t neglect the drier sections of my face. I love a good toner, and I was not disappointed with the Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Toner.

I was definitely not used to the clean, “clinical” packaging that reminds me of some medicines, rather than a dermalogical product – but I guess this packaging reinforces the message that the product has been scientifically formulated for results. The bottle itself is super convenient and allows you to get the product easily.

The dispensing bottle has a flip top cover and despite the liquid being fluid, it doesn’t just ‘gush’ out of the dispensing hole. The texture of this toner is fairly watery. It’s a clear liquid that is slightly thicker than water, but not heavy or thick. The clear syrupy texture is slightly thicker than pure water but not the cloudy type. Due to its thick texture, the adherence onto skin is very high too.
This toner is formulated with a low irritant formula which makes a great product for those of us that have somewhat sensitive skin.

The skin feels cleansed after wiping off the “residue” on the surface. It feels like pure fluid, hence does not irritate those with very sensitive skin. Its rich content of moisture and hydrating ingredients give the skin a “moisture recharge” without any irritation. Very light on the skin, calming and soothing too.

How I Use it

I cleanse my face thoroughly and after patting it dry with a muslin cloth, I gently apply this toner. I use just about 3-4 drops of the product on some cotton wool and dab it on my face – never rub or pull. If I am at home, I usually don’t apply moisturizer – and it works as a basic moisturizer as well. In the night, after cleansing, I apply this on skin using my palms and pat to absorb. I know many apply their toners with a cotton pad, but I like to apply it by gently patting it into my skin with clean hands. I have just found that this way I am not pulling or dragging a swab around my skin, instead I am getting all the product on my skin without any damage.

Effects of The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Toner

My skin is fairly sensitive (though in the last few years, it’s gotten a bit better) and I have had really poor reactions to skincare before and I was impressed by how soothed and healthy my skin felt after using this Toner.

I bought this from Nykaa after a friend went crazy recommending it. I found the price a tad steep for a toner. But once I started using this, I realised the worth of this product. Firstly, it works like a dream. Secondly, a little goes a long way. I have been using it for a month and have barely reached the three-fourth mark. Most significantly, I have noticed a 50% reduction in pore size.

I use this twice a day – once in the morning after my bath and once at night time – after cleansing my face and before using a night cream. The Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Toner is a mild hypoallergenic toner that calms skin and boosts moisture. It is daily mild moisturizing solution and the birch tree sap that is an ingredient in this one is used to help form a moisture layer to calm dry skin.

Over the last two weeks, I’ve been using The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur skincare and I’ve been really impressed with how soothing it is on my skin. Oh yeah, that’s the other fun thing about my skin – it’s quite sensitive – so using skincare products with heavy scents or harsh chemicals isn’t an option for me.

Being a specialised skincare, you should try Dr. Belmeur if you have the following concerns:
• Sensitive, blemished, problematic skin
• Excess sebum and clogged pores
• Damaged skin due to external harmful environment / stress
• Extremely dry skin from inside
• Overly sensitive / easily irritable skin that cannot stand dermatological treatments
